Another branch of creativeness........

I had been toying for some time with the idea of making sculptures from driftwood. I love modelling but also love making things and being creative that way too.

So this year I have made a start. I have been visiting Isle of Wight beaches to collect driftwood and beach glass to work with. I also bring back rubbish too to be recycled or thrown away at home (a small thank-you for providing me with the materials I need!).

Once home, I soak the wood in warm water and a mild bleach solution before letting it dry out.

I have been enjoying the whole process so much, learning new techniques constantly......and injuring myself a few times! :P

Five sales so far, of which I am very grateful for, and each one really does make me do a happy jig for joy! :D

I love the ghost dog.

There’s a guy in knutsford that does chainsaw carving and we spent a small fortune on a sculpture for my grandparents golden wedding anniversary.

I sometimes paint, but never the time at the moment with so many work commitments

I've seen the chainsaw sculptures, can't believe they can be so detailed using such a massive blade!

I wish I could paint/or draw (my attempts look like something you would be pleased with if a three year old presented their efforts to you!).

btw since you are wanting to see other members' creativity I have raised a support ticket to complain that your thread has been moved. I didn't get the impression that it was anything to do with buying/selling, despite the link to your online shop .... I thought it was about sharing ideas about creativity and seeing other members work

Self promotion is what we are all about or we wouldn't bother having a portfolio, but I don't think PP making your thread purely about money was correct. Sharing creativity is more than just acquiring the 'filthy lucre '
