Another branch of creativeness........

I've seen the chainsaw sculptures, can't believe they can be so detailed using such a massive blade!

I once bought a golden eagle 'chainsaw' carving directly from the sculptor.  He said that only the general form is done with the chainsaw, then they were finished with traditional carving tools for the detail.

I can't remember how much I paid for it, but I do know it cost me a fortune in linseed oil afterwards to look after it :-)

Cliff Mdx , ah, that makes sense. I varnish most of mine and use olive or coconut oil on the beach glass to bring out the colours. :)

Have you tried teak oil instead of varnish?  Unlike some oils it dries nicely and gives a lovely finish if it is burnished with 000 grade steel wool

Nice :-) Was this done with gouache or acrylic?

How did you achieve the white?

Becky Kvittems said, 1543065288

A very thick paste and a lot of layers

That one took me an hour

That is certainly something for me to consider for the future, thank-you.
