Was 2024 your best photography/modelling year so far?

It started slowly, became the busiest I have ever been with shoots, and life modelling classes and ended slowly. I received my second FPI and reached the 100 positive reference milestone, so a good year for a male model on here, all told.

Not really......I only got my cameras out of their cases a couple of times, cleaned them, and put them away.
I didn't use my proper cameras much at all either -- a handful of times. So quite a bad year for photos (if you don't count the ones I shot on phones, though I do, personally).
But I think time will tell whether this year was a good year or a bad year for my photography. I've spent a lot of time learning/making, and in terms of the work I want to produce I have a much clearer idea of my goals. I've been to exhibitions, studied artists, done research etc.

In general, yes. I haven't done as many shoots as I'd like due to financial constraints. However this year I put more effort into learning, planning, executing and editing, and feel the results have definitely shown some improvements, and I'm learning more from each shoot as I go.

Not at all.
Had way too less sessions and urgently need to change that next year.
Welcome to everybody wanting to help me with this intention. :)
But - I must confess - despite the quantity I made some pretty nice shots in 2024.

No.
My time has been limited and most of my resources focused elsewhere.
I've only managed a handful of shoots and haven't even had time to edit most of them yet. I've been reworking some of my favourite older shoots to keep my eye in.
Hopefully next year will see me having more free time and the resources to enjoy it.

I have not done a single shoot this year.
Wasted all my money on Whiskey and occasionally good times.

I'd have to say yes considering I shot my first professional model on the 31st January.
Its been a whirl wind with a mixture of group shoots and one to one's.
The bug has bitten and hopefully 2025 brings new challenges.

Is there someway you could incorporate your love of Whiskey with your portrait photography. Here's to 2025 :-)

Good for you Ben, let's hope 2025 will be even better

I certainly loved your natural light shoot with Darcie Louise, fantastic.

It's been an enjoyable one.
About 50 or 60 shoots with about 30 different models. About a dozen of those shoots have been on location. (I love location stuff but I never do enough of it.) Worked with four or five models who have been on my 'would absolutely bl**dy love to work with' list for ages. Did very well in charity shops - lots of interesting shoot clothes. (Still chuffed about that wedding dress for £12.50. Bargain of the century!) Discovered a few tasty locations for possible future use - but will I be able to use them?
The downside... I'm old and creaky (hang on - I should say even older and even creakier) so I've got an 'orrible feeling that this will have been my last full year of doing this. I'll miss it.
You need an assistant to do all the lifting, setup and break down, all you need is a strong finger to press the shutter button :-)

Thank you kindly, Tandi!
I should also add that this year I've had the good fortune to occasionally assist on shoots with the superb photographer and tutor Simon Carter. Watching YouTube vids and reading books on lighting is all well and good, but you can't beat physically supporting and learning from other people's shoots.

Very kind of you to offer. I'll provide tea and sticky buns.
