Was 2024 your best photography/modelling year so far?

It's our last shoot of 2024 today. It's been an thoroughly enjoyable year and I've tried my best to stop blinking and relax the RBF for long enough to get a couple of nice photos, which I have enjoyed sharing with Purpleport members.

Whether you are a model or a photographer, How has 2024 treated you and please feel free to add a link to your own favourite 2024 image (hit return after adding the URL otherwise it may not link).

Yeah all good, over all loved a lot of stuff I have done, some great, some not so great though.

Some great experiences shooting in Asia that I hope to expand on, and got back into shooting dogs again too, which is always good!!

I have acquired one or two new models that hopefully will be part of the few I generally shoot with too!

Looking at your profile, looks like 2024 was an excellent year :-)

Not a good year for model shoots for me. My last one was in March. After six years and many shoots I felt I just needed a complete break to recharge my creative juices and do something different. And catch up with some editing.

So here we are at the end of 2024 and I'm hopeful that I will get the urge to get back shooting in 2025. Fingers crossed.

On my way to my last shoot of 2024 soon, so I'll reserve judgement on my favourite image.

All in all though it's been a pretty good year for my photography.

I’ve had a very creative year but not as busy as I would have hoped. Bought a house and doing a development project meant my artistry was used in different ways haha😂 hoping 2025 is the year of travel and working with lots of new and exciting people!

Highlight was doing ballet at Venice carnival I would say🩰

Was 2024 my best photographic year?  The jury is 'still out' on the one.  But even with barely any shoots happening for November and December, it will still be a bumper year for the number of shoots and images taken.

2024 was a good year.

Did a couple of awesome longer trips to Utah and Iceland, with a recent weekend in the Algarve.

The few shoots I've done I'm UK have all been great.

But all I've done is added to my backlog of edits....

Hate picking a favorite, as many images I like for many different reasons!

For me definitely

Had amazing sold out tours down south and a 15 dayer to Scotland where I did over 20 shoots back to back studio and location.

I also really started concentrating on my own photography and took advantage of Scotland to shoot myself on location which was very challenging and I learnt alot.

No

I did manage a couple of shoots with really great models, but having moved house, from a location where there was a monthly group shoot, to where I am now, I do miss the monthly shoots

It's been an enjoyable one.

About 50 or 60 shoots with about 30 different models. About a dozen of those shoots have been on location. (I love location stuff but I never do enough of it.) Worked with four or five models who have been on my 'would absolutely bl**dy love to work with' list for ages. Did very well in charity shops - lots of interesting shoot clothes. (Still chuffed about that wedding dress for £12.50. Bargain of the century!)  Discovered a few tasty locations for possible future use - but will I be able to use them?

The downside... I'm old and creaky (hang on -  I should say even older and even creakier) so I've got an 'orrible feeling that this will have been my last full year of doing this. I'll miss it.

I think I expect too much sometimes, for the limited number of shoots I'm pleased with the results. Tried more other non model photography which doesn't show much here, that has been good too. I moved home the previous year so added distance to travel, it's not stopped raining and have had hospital appointments on a weekly basis for months which hasn't helped either studio or location opportunities. Not used the drone as much as I would have liked and there's been a lull in general activity. So more activity will sort the job out and I can continue with experimenting with other genres and my new found interest in classic cloned lenses.

Not really......I only got my cameras out of their cases a couple of times, cleaned them, and put them away.

Too much else going on in life now, and the shine of photography has dimmed for me.

started well, looks like it's going to finish meh! unless I can fit one last shoot in which is looking difficult.  I am hoping to start 2025 with somebody very special.

Very limited shoots this year due to back problems pre and post surgery, so I will leave you to decide.
