chris333 I've never been able to get into podcasts but thank you for the suggestion. Maybe I just haven't found the right one!
I agree that most of them are pretty annoying! Have been lucky enough to find a couple that I really enjoy.

Crippen same thoughts as podcasts I'm afraid. Now if you have more ideas like the original recording of Jeff Wayne's musical version of the War of the World's (not the Liam Neeson version) I'm all ears

I have a few playlists on Spotify which I tend to let run in a shoot (unless a model asks for something specific). They do tend to be very influenced by ‘grandad rock’. One is about 200 tracks long, the other mabe 50 or 60. Feel free to holler and I’ll see if I have the techie skills to share them

The Hunting of the Snark by Mike Batt
Under Milk Wood - The George Martin musical version
Or best of all...
Sir Henry at Rawlinson End - by Vivian Stanshall

The Hazards Of Love by The Decemberists is a fabulous narrative concept album.

The Hamilton original cast recording would be another choice. Amazing.

I have a few playlists that I put together with my daughter in a (mostly failed) attempt to get her not to disappear into her own headphones on car trips.
Two rules:
- One track per artist (so you don't need to worry too much if somebody comes up that you don't like)
- I had to be able to listen to the track multiple times (basically, 'no screamo' although some of my daughter's choices do get a bit close)
The main rocky one is at https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4MQuDcFNz8VoFquza8CcYJ?si=48127ee065b243b6 (nearly 41 hours), the main gentler one at https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5j6IS136RV5YT2SmZw8j8L?si=80d53b60caf844da (33 hours)

I'd forget the music. Go with a audio book.
My daughters drive with audiobooks.
I can’t listen to them, driving or not.
Probably because my natural reading speed is much faster.
I thought I could do Linguaphone Spanish while driving. Found that very distracting, bordering on dangerous.

Possibly an acquired taste, but for me it's good 'high energy' stuff... Femi Kuti.
Or for something completely different (but still high-energy, keep-you-on-your-toes stuff), try Humble Pie - especially their Rocking the Fillmore live album (or was it Live at the Fillmore? Hmmm.... )

Meatloaf, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Hawkwind, Bachman Turner Overdrive.
;)
Good gracious. You must be nearly as old as me. :)[Indeed, I've seen Zeppelin, Sabbath and Hawkwind. :)]
Black Sabbath were my Freshers Week Band - went out and bought the Album on ‘the famous Vertigo label’. Saw Zep at the Usher Hall backed by Stone The Crows - police had to come on and pull the plug. Never got Hawkwind…..
