Basal cell carcinoma.

The skin in that area is very thin, which itself usually tends to reduce risk of  scarring, additionally surgeons are pretty good at what they do and are sensitive to patients wanting minimal scars so the placement, direction and healing tension of the incision (while first priority to treat the carcinoma) is also done to minimise the scar.

There are products that can help with scar healing a lot are silicone gels but a company SOS - Science of Skin do a product called solution for scars ( developed in conjunction with a plastic surgeon) which has very good reviews.

Sometimes basal cell carcinomas get a little ‘zap’ of radio therapy, mostly 1 treatment with a low dose.

Good luck with the procedure, I am sure you will still be stunning. I had one removed from my back several years ago, painless and no issues at all, no biopsy, just removed straight away.

Sam Kelly thank you!...good to know!

I've always found that the worst part of any procedure is waiting for it. Sometimes the imagination does us no favours at all.

My mum had similar and NHS were brilliant - all now ok. Skin on the face heals quickly too so that’s a plus. Maybe think about food that promote skin healing for after the procedure like tomatos, nuts, avocado, fish, and anything with vit C in. Good luck and I hope it all goes ok x

I am a bit late to this but had quite a large op for BCC 10 years ago (nose - lots of stiches) It was uncomfirtable but it healed well. I now find I have another small one over my eye lash and I am waiting to get that sorted. They are very common, not dangerous if treated and the removal isn't too bad.

Good luck for Thursday.
