An album I adore and haven't heard in years -- The House We Built by the criminally underrated Alisha's Attic. And in particular this absolute belter of a song:

John Torode prattling on about cookery. I don't particularly like him, but the remote control is on the other side of the room and I can't be bothered to get up right now.

I have been listening to Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures (collectors edition)
I often ponder what this band would have achieved were it not for Ian Curtis’s Suicide. They would surely have become one of the world’s biggest bands. Even after just two albums they certainly became one of the most important and influential.

Today I am mostly pondering this quietly gut-wrenching song of parental longing and loss. Makes me well up every single time, and I don't even have any kids.

Better version that hasn't been sped up for some reason:

That's a good reminder. Used to have Stage Fright on vinyl. A classic. Loved it. MUST replace it.

I have got rid of all of my CDs, I gave away my vinyl years ago. I listen to Apple Music lossless. It is brilliant. I do miss LP covers though and the sight of a turntable brings a tear to my eyes :-

I have a huge number of boxes of CDs from when I temporarily moved out; haven't unboxed any of them. I don't have a CD player at the moment, but I ought to get one; there's a lot to listen to there and I no longer subscribe to a streaming service (apart from that which I can get from Amazon Prime Music, which always has something to listen to)
