Just disgusting, why would you want to do this?

It is not a perceived title but in most cases an actual title. In the US alone, domestic cats needlessly kill over 1 BILLION birds every year. Can you honestly see the UN intervening and possibly outlawing domestic pets?

The reality of the whole argument for conservation/protected species is it all stems from one particular species population increasing from what had been a relatively stable population of around 2 billion for several thousand years, to 7 billion over the last 150 years.

Hopefully the human race will wake up to the fact the planet is a closed system with finite resources & every scientific advance that reduces infant mortality or increases fertility or lifespan has both positive & negative effects.

Personally I would love to see these "hunters" rounded up and made to play Battle Royale/Hunger games.

Shh. You're not supposed to point out the similarities between Battle Royale and The Hunger Games! It'll upset the accepted Hollywood Order Of Things :)

Alongside the Theroux documentaries I would suggest watching the " Dear Hunter" movie.

Ooooh I will look into that one too! Thanks for the suggestion!

Bit of a daft comparison, we're talking about the global issues here, - effective protection of endangered species such as rhino, elephant, destruction of rain forest - what's going on in Madagascar in the headlines & TV news only this week for example. Prince William has suggested such a scheme so best take it up with him, or put forward your own idea which I am sure is likely to be a far better one. No I can't ever see such a scheme getting off the ground just yet. It might do in years to come when the world has lost most of it's wonders and people think, enough's enough, we HAVE to do something effective. Of course it's a pipe dream, I'm not suggesting otherwise. But until and unless such a scheme is implemented it's no good complaining about losing more and more endangered species. We will continue to do so regardless of charities, education etc. because not every country can afford to implement effect policies to prevent exploitation, & different countries employ different policies and maintain different more, or less, effective strategies with which to deal with exploitation and poaching etc. I maintain "perceived ownership" of our planets resources, because in my view each generation has the responsibility to safeguard and maintain them for future generations, not selfishly destroy them or wipe species out, and wild creatures are not property of individuals, or countries for that matter. Do the Kenyan's own their elephants in Amboseli, which then belong to the Tanzanians when they migrate into Tanzania? Do the Maltese own the thrushes and finches they shoot on their way over to the UK in the spring, and does the UK then "own" them when those that make it arrive? Destruction of rain forest effects other countries so by their selfish actions others are affected adversely. The Brazilians themselves, - ordinary people - have suffered from catastrophic flooding in the last few years following destruction of Amazonian rain forest which is illegal but has been hitherto uncontrolled by Brazil's own government.
