Question for models

Art nude is my favourite genre. I aspire to do a lot more of it next year, especially art nude in nature.

The work of the likes of Thomas Bichler, Tim Pile, Huw, and Amazilia Photography really appeals. If only distance wasn't such an issue!

I do not shoot glamour or any open leg, and prefer my nude work to be feminine yet empowering. I do not wish to be portrayed as vulnerable.

Nude in nature I find fascinating and isn't something I've done yet. Thomas Holm does this incredibly well.

I love the connection between the human form and the natural world, blending the beauty of both. It evokes a sense of harmony and vulnerability, highlighting our intrinsic relationship with the earth. It also removes the sexy side of things and focusses on the body and form, celebrating freedom and humanities link as part of nature’s tapestry.

Thank you to all the models (and some photographers) who've contacted me privately both on here and on Instagram. It turns out many models don't enjoy using the chats as some photographers take over the conversations and take things off topic which is a real shame. Says quite a lot in itself.

But I've learnt quite a lot about empowerment, about having fun, the freedom of nudity when not being coerced and about what you're happy to show you're friends and family, rather than keeping it hidden, like it's something you're not really comfortable with sharing with those you know. That one was a bit of an eye opener.

I am unsure what box i fall into? But art nude, maybe isnt the one for me.

I started modelling around 2009, wow ..what a completely outrageous era that was !

There was definatley alot less stigma in those days.

Most photographers were happy just to get the opportunity to shoot with a model , let alone nude .

I have lowered my levels last year, and will likely lower them again at the end of the year. Personal preference of course.

I adore being nude, sexy, glamorous and fun. I will smile unfortunatley, im not a fan of the lifeless look .

Art nude is a bit triangular for me, and im not angular so pretty much happy to prop myself up around the lounge and connect with the camera.

The angles and perspective are far more important than the actual levels to me.

I have no intentions of being dark, or more masucline or more figurative or anything like that.

I like to take insight from every photographer i work with and will try to relate to them individually.

The industry is more competative these days as i think the market is over saturated with women.

Ashley will remain Ashley, until Ashley drys up like a prune haha!

I am very grateful to be earning a living doing something i love for many years, and will hopefully continue to evolve in the business .

Modelling should never be a topic of how nude or rude someone is, its about creativity.

Each model has something to bring to the table .

Yeah definitely seen the stigma around nude photography rise in recent years. Not entirely sure why, maybe due to privacy concerns, the misuse of digital images, blurred lines between art and exploitation, and increased conservatism amplified by social media censorship and misinformation. Not sure if this will ever go back to the way it was in the 90s and 00s. Those times were fun, but also understand people took advantage during them as well. Hopefully a balance will be found.

To be honest, I think I am just maturing and my mind is still back in the 90s (where it belongs haha)!

Ironically, society has probably become more compliant of nudity because its soo accessible these days.

Not only was nudity kept on the top shelf, and very much boxed off from those under 18... the under 18s have access to everything these days and are not of the generation that play with toys.

They take far more satisfaction in technology.

Even without the nudity, the majority of female intstagrammers are using sexual content as their main driving point for followers.

Even I find myself getting "jet lagged" with the amount of twerking going on ,by once very creative models 😬.

Sexuailty is the driving factor in this industry and it always will be.

It is just human nature to move towards what is attractive to us and is very much a part of the social life of humans.

I do wonder if society will become desensitised to it all and curious to understand how we evolve ....

Artificial intelligence is set to blow us all out the water in the next couple of years anyway .

I am part terrified and part excited. I already am very fond of A.I.

It has helped me select some of the best Christmas presents this year 🤣!

I have a 14 year old daughter, and her knowledge in some areas terrifies me haha. I know it's best to have knowledge rather than not, but damn, the stuff she sees online we never ever had access to. (I'm nearly 50 and lots of stuff was out of reach to us, literally) I'm just glad she talks to us and questions stuff a lot.

AI is fascinating, I work in the creative industries and use it daily. It's abilities are amazing, I just hope it's used for good as we go rather than being manipulated by those in power...

In 2025 I plan on shooting a lot again after being away for large parts of this year, but plan on using nudity to question societal norms etc, but it's quite a difficult idea to anchor down.

Thank you for your insightful responses :)
