Just going to offer one more observation: fill light should be on the camera axis, and if you use a continuous source that is bright enough to compete with flash it may be very uncomfortable for the model.
If a light source is bright enough to compete with flash, you’re mounting the camera on it. A 60Ws speed lite puts out as much energy in 1/300th of a second as a 600W continuous light does in 1/10th.
There's also the advantage of TTL metering, which all modern cameras have. IIRC the camera will measure the scene and provide exactly the right amount of fill without you having to calculate anything, and without burning the subject's retinas out.
Off axis, though, the advantage of constant lighting is obvious. It's why I prefer natural light.

I'm being dim. It's not obvious to me.

Thanks again folks, lots to look at.
With regards to flash vs constant light.
My partner has photosensitive epilepsy, so for sufferers of that, flash has it's limitations.
I wouldn't intend for any light to be on any model for a prolonged period of time either, so that shouldn't be an issue at all.
Appreciate the post about it, as it's a valid concern though.

This is an item I have not tried though considering it....the reason being level of control and output for device size, the battery is usbc chargeable and the same as on field monitor from Viltrox I already have, easily mounted to camera or cage/stand. They were offered about£10 cheaper BFD. I suppose it could be returned if it didn't fulfil it's claims. I have a couple of Viltrox lenses 16mm f1.8 and 135 f1.8 top notch quality, and for that reason I personally might give it a go in new year or when price drops a tad. Just an idea, nothing much else compares on paper. Additional 2x battery available for £28.

Terrible pun. Also not obvious to me either.

What you see is what you get - shadows etc. With flash you have to build up experience to know what's going to happen (ie with the various types of modifier).

BeardedShooterUK bear in mind some LED constant lights have a flicker (albeit subtle!) Where in previous stage productions an actor suffered a seizure as a result of the "upgrade" from the overheating good old bulb type.
May not apply but worth having a look regarding frequency/rate on the source
