How have/are the attitudes toward nude/topless photography changing?

I'd like to go back to a time when a glimpse of stocking was something shocking.

I wonder just how many men, like me, in their 50's owe an almost fetish-like preference to women in stockings due to Benny Hill and Pams People?

No more than 6 or 7 million I would think.

I certainly would not welcome the return of a " glimpse of stocking".

You cannot imagine the fantastic moment when the Mini skirt came in and with it the awful women's underwear that was also consigned to the waste bin.

On a serious note it also pushed forward in so many ways a new freedom for women; and this was allied to many sorts of trousers that could be worn in many different environments.

Not many men, like me, in their late 60s/70s.

Stockings were just irritating. Both on Pans People, and on girlfriends.
And the same went for bras.
Obsolete in the Flower Power Psychedelic era.

Britain is a funny little country with it's own unique blend of public prudishness and private degeneracy...

Bit like America with less money and less guns.

Except you can still sell "Art nude" prints for big money in America. Even more so if they are male art nudes.

Completely agree with you there.

Where am I going with this? Well I wonder how much (if at all) censorship by US owned online platforms and media companies will/has changed the attitudes of the upcoming generations, particularly in the UK, towards  sex, sexuality and the showing of, god forbid, nudity.

I think art nude as a genre will remain but the more "racy" side of photography will/is dying off

I think the opposite is true, paradoxically. I imagine the biggest driver of OnlyFans signups and even awareness comes directly from social media, specifically the ever-puritanical Instagram (could be wrong). Same principle answers your second question, why take your clothes off for a few quid an hour when you could be in control of the narrative and make a lot more on OnlyFans. I don't think, and I could be very wrong again, that many women get into the adult side of content creation purely to scratch an artistic itch.

I find the whole thing quite strange, women remove clothing for pay and mostly for the benefit of men. Other women object to women removing clothing for pay and the benefit of men. Women photographing women without clothes is universally acceptable, though men photographing women unclothed is frowned upon. I just don't understand the imbalance.

It's OK for women to make porn films for men to watch but not OK for men to watch them. Women can freely watch porn as that is not frowned upon by men.

Women create adult content for OF and men subscribe to see it. Any male paying to watch adult content on OF is a perv.

I'm not sure what drives or makes particular levels of content popular, or how trends begin but the only common ground is that it's done almost exclusively for financial reward. I don't subscribe to the notion that men exploit women in respect of nude or adult related imagery, rather the other way around. It's a lifestyle choice they make usually motivated by financial reward and attention.

I'm confused by it all.

The criticism goes to the GWC, the G usually being a guy.

Not the woman in front of cam, she's viewed as weak and mis-guided by the camera holding guy.

It's the new chivalry.

indemnity I would actually say the opposite in that it’s pretty straightforward. 🙂

Both men and women have the capacity to be perverts… Although I’m not sure how and when the word “pervert” actually came to have negative connotations attached to it. It seems that the word gets thrown at certain behavioural patterns which (in their most innocent and respectful form) are just pretty human nature to me. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Although I do think that the negative views about porn/smut/nudity have sometimes had the habit of being derived from potentially exploitative original sources and depictions, which I suspect is where the cynical judgement comes from. Most of the products of the vast, wide industry of nakedness/sex originally was controlled by men (from full service sex work to the production of porn, to tamer glamour calendar photo shoots) and there was always that uncertainty as to how exploitative it really was of the women featured. The product itself is very straightforward and: *what it says on the tin.* To me, it’s a natural interest of human beings and there shouldn’t really be a big deal about it… Like; why is everyone shocked? 😂 The dilemma came when you had the people of focus in the content (performers/models in this case) not really leading the industries originally, thus it was easy for the outside public to take a negative view and think these *poor girls* were being exploited/trafficked or pushed into hardcore work in a vulnerable position. Don’t get me wrong - that has been the case in some instances, and not just where clothes are absent; the fashion industry has seen women exploited and abused too. However the sale of smut for entertainment in one form or another is the world’s oldest industry. It’s the one thing that will probably never go out of fashion and there will always be a demand for it. Unfortunately, like most things *in demand* they can just get into the wrong hands of power and profit hungry people who then pull the strings of those actually working the industry. The general public then see the production of it as something dark, sinister and unholy and models/women can’t possibly be doing it because they enjoy it. One of the best things that happened for the porn industry was when Onlyfans and similar sites kicked off and allowed the performers to take control back, and I think this brought about a greater connection of respect between creators and customers too. That isn’t just saying *power to the bitches* it’s saying power to the people who own the bodies which are making the money (could be male performers too). But they hold the tools, of course they should be in control. That’s pretty common sense to me. 😏

More men buy porn and pay to look at naked pictures because men are generally more visual. A lot of porn/suggestive content has indeed therefore been tailored for the male gaze, simply because it makes good logical sense to produce content that is going to sell. Hiring a model is a very expensive and impractical way to look at naked pictures… And whilst there are folk who just enjoy doing that (as long as they're treating the models with respect, it’s nobodies business) it’s an activity that does lean more towards at least having some creative interest at least. It’s a lot of effort otherwise when you could just go and sub to a model’s fan site. 😂 I personally enjoy producing powerful sensual nude work, but frankly I don’t give a damn who likes it… I like it. ☺️ I may tell a small lie in fact because I feel that little bit more excited when another women likes my erotic work, simply because women are more subtle in what they enjoy perving on and generally harder to please visually. It does feel like that bit more of an achievement as such. ❤️ But I don’t judge men for enjoying looking at pictures or videos of a certain suggestive style any more than I’d judge women (as long as they do so with appreciation and respect - zero judgement from me!) A lady photographer friend of mine recently got hired to photograph a *ladies night* party event and, let’s just say, those attendees were not holding back! 😅 But they had an amazing time, my friend captured the intimate moments beautifully and they have already asked to rebook her. 👏 I’d be just as over the moon if that photographer friend was a male friend getting repeat business for doing a good job. No difference. 🤷🏻‍♀️

People choose to look at what they like, models choose to pose for what they like, photographers choose to photograph what they like and people spend money on what they like. 😊 Seems just about the most uncomplicated thing to me. 😃

Keira Lavelle I have no objection to any form of nudity or adult activity, nobody is forced to watch, participate etc. I admire women gaining a good living from OF, I just don't understand how some view it all and the censorship around it. If it's not of any interest to someone then just ignore it, if it suits embrace it. It's people's reactions I just can't fathom, and how they attempt to expect other to follow their views.

indemnity oh that’s just the *holier than thou crowd* in which case. They’re comical.😆 They watch Profits For Perversion every night to stay on the straight and narrow, and drench themselves in holy water if they feel themselves blushing a bit too much over the outfits in a racy music video. 🤣 Often it’s guilt to be honest, because they secretly probably would like to enjoy it but can’t be seen to be doing so… Alas their hard drives may tell a different story. 🤭 I feel like out of someone who is casually honest about liking smut, and someone who preaches WAY too hard (and constantly like they’re almost trying to convince themselves) about how godly they are staying away from all that satanic material - it’s the latter of the two whose a little more likely to have unpleasant surprises under their floorboards. 😬😂🙈
