Would I recognise my own work?

Your colouring is distinct and the dynamic hair is something I'm seeing too. 👌🏽👌🏽

Probably not no but I'm OK with that. I do this for my own creative need

Marissa _PH1 thanks… probably down to my inability to navigate the wind measurement on the weather report!

Don’t know about unique, because I know my influences (Bruce Weber, Sam Haskins, Ansel Adam’s),

but my stuff is about light (colour fairly irrelevant), movement, musculature and emotion.

Whether I manage to get it right is another question.

…. and rocks. The rocks are important.

At art college we were always told that style is something that evolves and if you try to impose a style you reallyn't have developed one. It is like handwriting it develops and changes as we mature.

So style isn't a word that sits easily with  me but I can usually recognise my own work but equally I sometimes see someone else's and think, momentarily that is mine. That occurs both with photography and with painting.

I don't have the mental space to try to define it right now but I might do later :)

I can!

I know what I’m looking for when I shoot m, even though the techniques may vary. Does that count as a style?

It works though

You're the first to breakdown your work. I agree with your I'm finding it interesting that there seems to be reticence in the question amongst most of the comments.

I was trying to get from everyone, whether you can recognise your work, if you were somebody else.

Yep, you have a particular style that's soft in texture, yet powerful in how your models pose. There's also an element of outright confidence in your choice of framing. ✨✨✨

I’ve always known what style of photography I like, and I’ve worked fairly consistently to master the techniques needed to shoot it.

Never did it because I felt the need for a style, just shot what I wanted. More than 40 years….    Very unpopular with camera club judges sometimes; didn’t bother me. Maybe I’m just pigheaded. Actually, I am pigheaded.   :)

Doesn’t mean I’m not capable of shooting other styles if someone pays me.

Thank you so much! It's easy for me to recognise my work because I see the landscape without the model the same way I would with the model. Also I have my angles according how I see certain lines so I can see and recognise  my work by its geometry.
