It's funny indeed that it did not just say " Don't bother, AI is going to be king"

😀

ANDY00 I don't know when last I printed a photograph.

I don't really think quality matters for now. If everyone is looking at images online only, then all we see are small pictures. I see 99% of the images here on PP as a tiny stamp sized image. I hardly even open the thumbnails.

That is true for the most part, but certain things, like school portraits or just portraits in general, often require the ability to enlarge at high detail. So yes, you might not print things often, and it could be a rare instance, but let’s consider if you did need to enlarge something—an image for a birthday cake, a banner, or, God forbid, if someone passes away and you decide to print that amazing image they loved for the wall, and…

But again as i say, phones are changing now, some shoot in RAW and image sizes are getting bigger all the time.

Most hings image wise are online these days or on smart devices and compressed to death i agree

My phone shoots in RAW, or I can shoot on my Lightroom app.

The world is not what it was, no matter how we try to defend actual Cameras. The using of phones will only be pushed further, because it's a way for our images' copyright to soon be taken away from us. IG has already started this and I am horrified by this.

I did a commercial a couple years ago for Heathrow airport and the whole shoot was done on a phone. It was so much easier to do, as we could move around quickly without big cumbersome cameras.

MaristarOxley , I suspect this one of those haves and have nots differentiations. For someone paying £3k/month rent in London, the thought of spending another £1k on a print of something they bought for £50k seems impossible. For someone else who’s repayments on their mortgage plus £50k asset only comes to £2k that would seem a reasonable number.

Events: does that include sport?

The problem with cricket photos is that s maximum of 13 people are the market for most pictures. I photograph running and triathlons, lots of people.  It isn't usually art or portraiture, but it is X (ahead of Y and Z) running in the event.

MaristarOxley that’s so vague and general it’s pathetic. Selling prints or selling digital products covers nearly all of photography.
