Has anyone heard of this magazine and is it legit?

Someone has contacted me on Instagram about featuring some shots of mine.

Ask them for their circulation figures and a breakdown by reader classification...

Vanity publishing on the same model as the Kavvyar series of magazines. They don't pay usage and then no doubt will encourage you to upgrade your submission - for a fee - to guarantee publication. A new wrinkle on a very old, ... I hesitate to use the word 'scam', so let's just call it a 'sales technique' ... that's as old as the printing press.

Try asking them for a usage fee and then you'll see how keen they are. Use the AOP B.U.R calculator to give you a rough idea on usage rates.

https://www.the-aop.org/information/usage-calculator.

You've got a great portfolio that has taken you time and money to build and your pictures are too good to give away to a business for nothing.

I shot with a model a few months ago and she was approached by Sarze. She asked me if I would be willing for the photos to be used (at least she asked!) and, as she was new and keen, I reluctantly agreed. They did try and get more money out of us to be featured on the front cover but there was never any mention of an usage fee.

I thought they would at least offer us a free copy of the magazine but all we were offered was a measly discount of something like 10% off the cover price of $40.

A proper magazine is already laid out for the next year and the chances of them approaching you - unless you are a big name or have something VERY special - are zip.

I generally ask ‘what’s in it for me’. The reply is always exposure. (Aka nothing). I then ask ‘do the model and I get printed copies?’ Answer is always no. I then politely decline
