GPA6 certainly you should ask a model before creating ai with them if it alters the asthetic or style of an image created anyway for sure,

GPA6 all models who I shoot with know that their images would be composited onto a different location. Most are shot on grey backgrounds.

Why would a model care if a background is AI or not? As long as they themselves don’t get AI’d and look bad I can’t imagine they’d care whether the holiday inn or cemetery they now reside in is legit real or not…?

a background can drastically change the perspective of a shot, take a model crouching down facing camera change background to a bed and all of a sudden shes lying on a bed with her legs in unflattering position, best to plan with models before changing with AI to keep this new world honest Just imho

Retouchguy my point being an AI bed or a real stock image of a bed makes no difference. You’re talking about intent.
If the intent is to do something dodgy it’ll likely still happen. Albeit I’ll concede that AI will make the process more accessible to someone without the skills to do it the old ways.

Ah see what you mean sorry thought you ment it didn't matter,

harbuzenger there are lots of reasons, models dress and get made up for a type of shoot, that's why they will ask questions prior to the shoot. That all changes as soon as you start making drastic changes. Surely that's obvious?

@GPA6 drastic changes aren’t what we’re talking about. We’re talking about AI.
The subject shifted to “should we inform models we’re using AI?”
You could use AI for minor changes or use traditional methods for drastic ones. My point is that I can’t imagine a model cares whether AI is used or not. It’s what’s done to the image that actually matters.
We’re all perfectly capable of creating a total shit show of an image without the help of AI. It’s strange that we’re behaving like none of this was possible before AI came along. It’s just quicker and takes less effort now.
Plus if the shoot is done in front of a grey or green screen, I’m pretty sure everyone involved might be expecting some changes…

Does your model release not contain words to the effect of:
'I consent to the digital processing, compositing or distortion of the images, including without restriction any changes or alterations as to colour, size, shape, perspective, context, foreground or background or any other elements the photographer considers appropriate.'

Were talking about ai image generation, its very different from retouching the lighting

I think 'without restriction' covers that.

no it doesn't, i mean technically you may think so but depends entirely what you do to the image, if for instance the person changes the levels in the image the model agreed to etc, Ai requires new dtsndards i believe when agreeing to shoot just my opinion

This thread is about a drastically changed image. The vast majority of editors couldn't come close to the new AI generative and editing capabilities on offer right now.

And the image has been deleted by admin for AI use, when the background was AI and is not against the rules. I appeal the deletion...
