That's exactly what I wanted to type. That saddens me the most. He was looking forward to have a new life.

Such sad news. Had quite a few lively discussions with him in the forums over the years. RIP Jerome! 

The place won't seem the same without him.

I became aware of him shortly after I joined 7 years ago and there he always was in the forum posting and commenting on such a wide range of subjects in his own unique way.

Even if you went solely by the way he spoke online, this is basically the only possible way he could have looked, isn't it.

Theta Aeterna on the flip side, sometimes it’s of - very small - comfort to know someone died with hope rather than lived without.

I was much saddened to receive this news and my thoughts are with his Jeremy's family and friends.

I only met Jerome once but instantly liked him. I corresponded with him occasionally, over the years and always read his forum posts for their common sense and sense of humour.

I really respected Jeremy for disagreeing with your opinion but listening to it and being prepared to take your point. This was very refreshing in a world where so many see a discussion as a battle to win, often for the sake of ego as in "keyboard warrior".

Jeremy wasn't that. He wasn't afraid to voice his opinion but he did listen to other points of view. This stood him in good stead for being a moderator on Net-Model and other sites, which he did for many years.

Sites and forums like our are enriched by strong and ebullient characters like Jeremy and we will surely miss him.

Rest well and in peace Jeremy.

I agree on that. From his perspective it is good. From our perspective, we would wish more joy from the only life we have.

As Jeremy would definitely have been able to point out* it is neither; it is "hear, hear" (a simple repeated entreaty). I am confident he'd be amused by this brief digression but we should leave it here :-)

* very possibly with a side anecdote about a politician; I am going to miss the little anecdotes

Thanks for clearing that up. I'm obviously aware of the use of the exclamation on the benches of the Commons ... but see all sorts of variations online, to the extent that you doubt yourself 😏

Sad news, Rest in Peace.

So incredibly unfair. I have learnt so much from this man and he will always have a special place in my heart for sending me weird stuff in the post.

Always a stable presence when I’ve been poorly and will miss the dark humour and silliness xxxx

Have had many conversations over the year on here and other sites.
Always a gentleman with a wonderful perspective on photography, life and anything in between.
