There is A view of Durham Cathedral from the river bank taken beside the old boathouse which almost has footmarks indicating, ‘take from here.’

It's a beautiful location.. I'm sure lots of people have taken a photo there. I'm also pretty confident that most models on here will have numerous photos in their portfolio that look similar but taken by different photographers.

Unfocussed Mike it looks from Google maps like you can really only stand on the road next to the bridge to take that shot.
I did look for hopes of doing self photography there but it would be impossible I think and I can't see a way down to the Riverside unless you're scrambling which I'm too old for. Lol

Personally I don't see anything wrong with taking an image of somewhere that you find aesthetically pleasing, even if you were drawn to the location due to seeing an earlier image from someone else.
Doesn't it just demonstrate that the 'original' thousands of images had something right about them in terms of inspiration.
