Just to let everyone know my ig account was hacked last night and is now being run by rowdy9k


if you were following me on ig as treborimages then unfollow rowdy9k - I have reported it to ig but not expecting much. I had a phone call and message on what's app from russia saying my account was hacked and did I want it back. I blocked the caller and then had another message from another phone in russia which I ignored.  I could see that it was hacked by someone in london and the current owner is turkish.

before I could use any of the ig processes to stop this they had already stopped you from doing any of the processes


I have set up a new account on ig as      the_real_treborimages  if you would like to follow .

They just want your followers. Just follow all your old contacts on a new account then Block. IG,FB, META will do nothing.

When I noticed a few of these hacks going on I switched on 2fa (two factor authorisation). I know its a pita but it *may* prevent this happening.

I've unfollowed Rowdy9k and will follow your new account.

I had a request for another member on here this morning but after some questions I changed my pw. They were asking for a copy of a link. IG reported it was from Canada

Lost an account to this a few years back, quite frustrating, worst thing for me was I only ever used two passwords for everything, they went on form there. Words of wisdom, change passwords on other accounts.

I use the generated password on my mac which are quite complicated - not sure how they have done it

No idea - I change my passwords a lot  ( often forget them lol) and use the apple generated ones quite often which are quite complex

just another thought, some of us do alot of booking details through IG, numbers, addresses even some private info might be discussed. perhaps its time to start thinking very rarely of what is shared there incase we get hacked
