Goodbye friends

I fail to see how membership of this site& keeping photography as a hobby are so interwined - there are millions of photographers on the planet who don't even know PP exists yet can still happily pursue their hobby.

I think the OP is attaching an importance to PP that doesn't exist in the real world.

As for the importance of FPIs - ????? They are an advertising tool for the site which change daily QED the shelf life of one is about 24 hours can't quite see why people get so hung up on them, plus screw your eyes up a bit & all the thumbnails look the same :)

The most important FPI is the one that makes it to my Facebook page, at least that's what I tell any prospective model/s LOL.

Photorunner said, 1553085556

Please don't think bad of the site - the system is set as it for a reason, we all have to abide by the 15 shot free membership - there isn't nothing wrong in that or the site.
I'm not knocking the site or Russ and the guys who run it, in simple terms - I have a hobby I can't afford and a head that won't allow me outside this box, choosing 15 shots from approx 400 ... isn't at all possible, I have altered a few around sometimes - but my Avatar of Josie was probably my best ( however lucky of shot that was ).

As for the year on unlimited ... Russ I'm sure is being kind - it's probably more like 2 at least, I don't belong here - this place is for creatives who produce not for tramps with dreams.
That said - I'm happy in the knowledge that I've shared time with some very special people and hopefully have given them some images to cherish for years to come.

But why are you leaving? That doesn't make sense to me. It just sounds like you are being mean to yourself for no gain at all.

Matt Horton said, 1553085829

I like your images Photorunner and you are in no way a tramp with dreams chap.

Tabitha Boydell said, 1553085867

That’s a shame Photorunner. Don’t make your departure memorable for all the wrong reasons. Stay a while :)

Are you writing in the hope a nice men pays for your membership like they usually do with pretty models?

Many have hardships, I personally wouldn't go on about things like that online though.

There is no reason to close your account down , fifteen free uploads is good in my book. Imagine it was only five. As for the costs of model photography that's another story.

You are leaving because your subscription expired over a year ago and PP removed the excess profile images which were not visible on your profile anyway?

Isn't that a bit like cutting off your nose to spite your face?

I'm not sure what you have lost considering those images were not available on your profile, and I'm not sure what you will gain by flouncing off.

All along, since your subscription expired, you could have referred people to PP and easily enjoyed the benefits of Unlimited 100% for free.

I don't think thats very helpful at all.

The guy could be struggling for many other reasons, not just because of losing images.

Talk about twisting the knife after its gone in. Not very helpful comments Russ, from the owner of the site. I understand you were trying to explain certain reasons, but its most likely NOT just the loss of images.

Try and be more mindful I say.

I understand what you are saying DavidP - but this is a business site. It’s not a charity site for disabilities or mental health. There are many sites out there that are far better used for health issues than this site.

I think Russ goes way over the level of service you would ordinarily expect a business to give in terms of how he communicates and responds and provides improvements based on our feedback. In this case Russ was trying to explain how the site works. I for one didn’t know that things regarding images changed after 12 months and am now aware due to Russ’s information and clarified by other members on the forum too.

However he is not a health professional. Therefore he should not or could not be expected to behave as such. If at all that should be down to members in the forum - but even then, this is a photography model site, not a health forum.

far better the members point the person in question to MIND or other charity sites that are qualified and set up to help.

As i mentioned in my post. I understand what Russ was doing, pointing out across the point of images being lost for a reason. He stated that.

It was how it was worded that I take umbrage with.

It was glib, and to me, it felt uncaring.

I am fully aware of what this website is, full of creative individuals and with that, brings a whole host of mental health issues. Clearly not indicating everyone.

I just felt it wasn't necessary as the site owner, his business is his priority. Stick to the business and deal with the website in hand, offering an opinion on a person is not necessary!!

Isn't that a bit like cutting off your nose to spite your face?

I'm not sure what you have lost considering those images were not available on your profile, and I'm not sure what you will gain by flouncing off.

He didn't flounce off, just gave a nicely worded goodbye and is it the reason that a member left that Russ felt he was in the right to give an opinion on the person? No.... its not big and its not clever.

You are jumping on  him  for simply giving his view which was not at all aggressive or rude, to me it just showed a bit of personality nothing more. This is the problem with such sensitive folk around, dictating how others should write even when there was no real issue with the text.

Sorry, but I can just ascertain something here. Can you actually read?

I certainly wasn't dictating.... please read ALL my posts again if necessary to clarify my point of view. Yes... my point of view. If thats not allowed, then we may as well all give up.

Please show a little understanding and pay attention to what I have written.

I have seen this before, the boss getting too big for their boots. An opinion is good, but not directed at members that are paying for services. This is NOT good.

It does'nt show personality at all, its shows a person in charge, happy to give a personal opinion on someone. In the corporate world of business, this can be seen as bullying. Please don't shoot the messenger.... this is what I personally and clearly can see.

If you don't like it, please block me.

Please guys .... Russ has his reasons to ask, and I will try and help clear his question in the statement box on the deactivation page, I'm not dissing the site - I've valued the site and what the team does to make it work for a long time. Please don't turn this into an argument page ( there are enough of those already ), I chose to say Goodbye here as I know I've made friends and people who admire / respect my efforts and I can't say a personal messaged goodbye to all of them.

There's a lot of good people here - carry on enjoying their ports

Who knows maybe if things alter in the future for me - I'll call back and say hello

See you folks - peace x

Just to make it clear.... did you flounce off or just leave?

Good luck for the future. This is a great site in the main and its a shame you feel you want to leave, but I totally understand that you have your reasons.
