El Lobo well when I book models it's rarely based in reference and more on analysis of their port photos and credited photos amongst other reasons , I wouldn't be surprised if anyone would do this but I think within the system there are already problems without adding to it. I too have come across an odd profile or two where the model seems to have multiple references from one photographer, I made no record of it though. Some people do live in quite remote areas or lack confidence to work with new people , so it's not always a suspicious thing.

Wondrous - thanks for sharing that.

Exactly and when there are hundreds of references but less than a dozen images it's very hard to make an analysis of their port photos and credited photos.

You might not be surprised but others might be. I think that's called having an opinion - something which seems to irritate people on here. Not sure which 'system' you're referring to with the 'problems' but probably the best way not to add to something is to not feed it. Too many people on here quick to jump in and make something personal out a simple question or suggestion.

Have you reported this account as suspicious?

No, I just moved on from it and won't book the model. I don't suppose it's against the rules to not show images which accompany a reference but when there are 50 or 60 references from the same person (who has since deactivated) and not a single image, it seems odd and hardly fills me with confidence. Many of the other references for the same model also have no images. I'm told this might be an attempt to appear more popular and boost chances of bookings, but in this case it had the opposite effect and I booked somebody else.

I think you're reading far too much into it.

Consider:

  • The photographer genuinely worked with the model many times.
  • The photographer uploaded images from those shoots.
  • The model chose not to upload any to their profile.
  • When the photographer's accounted is deactivated, the images are all inaccessible.

This is more than simply plausible, it's quite likely if the photographer's images are not in line with what the model wants to portray.

Further, the model might have untagged themselves from other photographers' images, again because those images don't fit with the model's idea of their "branding".  See https://purpleport.com/articles/1133/crediting-other-members-in-images-1/ for more reasons why this might be the case.

OK, so it worked against them in that it caused you to choose not to work with them, but that's their choice. :)

Well let's not drift too far from why I mentioned it - as a possible reason for some of those members who never upload anything. That's why I asked if this was a possibility as it happens on other sites, as I mentioned earlier.

But in response to you - Yep, that's plausible enough and I did consider all those points, which is why I just moved on to somebody else. Others might deem it worthy of reporting, as has been suggested.

The photographer who drew my attention to it believes differently and that's up to them. I will add one further point though - that the same model has recently uploaded new images, claiming they were taken this year, but I saw the same images a few years ago on another site. So maybe there's also that to consider. But that's a whole new discussion and one I won't get into here as it wouldn't be fair.

Oops...

Can't see some of the replies now because I've been Blocked.

Can't comment if I can't see. Bit of a disadvantage. Nevermind. Onto the next topic.

Have a good weekend people. Namaste

If they separately make that claim that is one thing.

If they uploaded them, and the site defaults to dating them {today} that's another.
