A few times I have invited an image to a group, the invitee has expressed willing but missed the notification (presumably among many hundreds) - but this too cannot be issued again, which is a little frustrating.
Is this a technical limitation? Or a policy? (and if the latter, may I ask why?)
I think missing the notification is an issue and has been raised a couple of times. Such notifications ought to be prioritised, as has been suggested.
There's a real problem if the site decides to suddenly prioritise all notifications that need a response, because there could well be some significant backlogs for some people.
Consider a popular model, who gets a bajillion "your image has been loved" notifications per week, going away for a week, and coming back to that mountain.
Then compound it with all the "an image you're tagged in has been loved". I know some models turn that one off simply because the number of notifications is overwhelming.
Then add in "your image has been invited to a group". Some of which they might want to accept, and some they might wish to decline.
And then think about the ones that they actually want to see and respond to, such as "(person) has booked a shoot with you" or "(person) has left you a reference".
My suggestion: Splitting the existing single list of notifications into two - those which need a response and those which don't - would be a great start.
Further allowing them to filter the notifications which need a response by notification type so they can prioritise certain invitations will make their lives much easier.
This suggestion comes from my having talked to models who have faced that problem, but I suggest reaching out to some of the busiest ones and checking what would actually be useful to them would ensure that any change would have only positive effects, and will avoid the worst of any possible unintended negative consequences.
