How to add (or change) shoot styles

By Laura SJ FD, written 1612870511

Shoot styles (known as genres or levels) describe the different photoshoots you can work in (e.g. commercial, beauty, fashion, lingerie, nude, etc.).

A list of the shoot styles you work in on PurplePort is displayed on the right-hand side of your portfolio page (under the heading Shoot styles). Our Search feature has a specific filter option to find members with certain shoot styles, so it's important that you choose shoot styles that you are capable of and comfortable with.

We provide a list of different styles and what they mean in The PurplePort Guide to Shoot Styles, which will give you an idea of the types of photoshoots available across the industry.

How to add or remove shoot styles

You can change the type of photoshoots you work in on PurplePort by adding or removing shoot styles from your portfolio page via your Work Preferences page:

  • Go to the purple cog (top right) and click Manage your account
  • Click Work Preferences
  • Scroll down to the heading Shoot Styles and tick the shoot styles you would like to add (or untick any you wish to remove)
  • Click Update your work preferences
