Start of a new era?

A lot of people dismissed PP when it started. I think it had been going at least a year before I joined, probably more. These sites come and go.

I had completely forgotten about the links page on my website until recently and it had not been updated since 2006. The links to model sites on it were, UKPM, OMP, NM and AMZ and TMC. A lot of people on here won,t even recognise the abreveations.

I,ve been aware of the new site for a while  this thread has jogged my memory to join.

A couple of years from now who knows what the big news in model sites will be.

It appears to be US based.

I think they need a proof reader!

From the front page alone:

'Create unlimited casting calls and find prople to work with.'

'There's no limit on the number of images you can add to your porfolio'

'You work in the modlling industry so asthetics play a big part.'

This doesn't project a very professional image.

If the site owner is reading this, I'm available for proof reading services and my rates are very reasonable :D

Only one model in Gloucestershire at the moment, Amber Burgess, but I'll keep an eye on it.

And the owners port seems to be full of images borrowed from wallpaper sites, not a great roll model...

Lol, everyone is always so quick to be dismissive and negative...cocky (ugh, ugly trait) ...and...well...so fucking ready to jump on the 'it's shit' bandwagon. 

I have been around on PP since day one, since the first millisecond of it's existence and I also heard people saying it was never going to catch on, it was small, "Lol, looks at that shit site" Well, erm, it's not small anymore, is it?

We ALL start somewhere, don't ever forget that. Besides, from what I hear the owner for this new site has been very successful in the past with various sites. Give it a chance before you slag it off. 

I have been on there since September and I hope it does well. We all need variety in our lives, it's not healthy for everyone to be in the same 'bubble' in my opinion. Eggs in one basket and all.

....said the ex net-model photographer who is now on PP....come on, think things through a bit better. If we are hypocrites then i'm pretty sure it makes you one too, by the very nature of being here yourself.

In all seriousness though I think you will find the majority of people bitching about PP when it started were on the PS side of the fence. The management mostly. Most of photographers I know were happy to get away from NM due to the general decline of the site and the lack of fucks given by the management.

With net model it was very cliquey and people saying they've been on from when it started and all that mularky When they came over to purple port it was going a bit like net model was in but over the years its not gone that way, I'm glad it didn't.

Im on the same sites as most of the other togs, i think we all do that just in case things go wrong with one site, we have other sites to use,   you will know as much as me some sites will die a death just like net model did and purestorms going that way and some new model sites just will never make it at all as a couple have in the last couple of years.

As hypocrites go yes that includes me as well, at least these new sites are not cliquey like net model was.

I hope I'm not going to have a slanging match with you to night am i?
