Start of a new era?

Only 827 images and counting :-)

Why are so many disparaging to a new 3 day old site. Does anyone remember PP starting?

As I recall PP was free to use.

Competion is healthy, it focuses everyone's minds and efforts.

There are several free sites and several pay sites, non as good as PP.

The emails that were sent out inviting people to join the site were signed by 'Brad'

The first account on the site belongs to a 'Brad'

So, I presume that the owner of this site is Brad.

Brad lists himself as having 'some experience' and then underneath, in his blurb he states he is a professional photographer, and casts on the site for several shoots a week.

For someone who has 'some experience' he certainly has a lot of images published on wallpaper sites.

Just sayin'

Of course, I might have the wrong Brad, in which case I would have to take it all back. Bit if it is the case, its a shame that a site owner would have to steal images to put in his port.

Lol, everyone is always so quick to be dismissive and negative...cocky (ugh, ugly trait) ...and...well...so fucking ready to jump on the 'it's shit' bandwagon.

I have been around on PP since day one, since the first millisecond of it's existence and I also heard people saying it was never going to catch on, it was small, "Lol, looks at that shit site" Well, erm, it's not small anymore, is it?

We ALL start somewhere, don't ever forget that. Besides, from what I hear the owner for this new site has been very successful in the past with various sites. Give it a chance before you slag it off.

I have been on there since September and I hope it does well. We all need variety in our lives, it's not healthy for everyone to be in the same 'bubble' in my opinion. Eggs in one basket and all.

I'm sure it will have its place. And to be fair my question regarding mass uploading of images has been addressed already. Which is good.

I have put a profile there, it looks nice enough. However it badly needs stats. How else will I know how good I am or aren't :)

Competition is no bad thing. As Net Models has died, Purestorm is very poorly and Model Mayhem is, well, American. A new face cant be a bad thing.

If it's the site I think it is, it seemed promising initially as they seemed to have some ideas in mind that would suit people working and established in model photography businesses, an aspect not strongly addressed by any existing sites. However, after a brief discussion, I learnt that they weren't looking to support adult or fetish parts of the industry - which kind of shoots itself in the foot. It's a pity as the person I spoke to had a very professional communicating style and it seems they have some interesting ideas up their slieve.

For me, it!s currently a write off because my real world applications fall outside their brief, much as they do with MM which was strictly adamant that I must never use their system for my soft fetish (and mostly clothed) stuff which they consider unacceptable - which seems weird by my standards. But they employ their rules, their morality, as is the proper state of affairs.

What is it with model sites that they can't think of original names? It never stops bugging me that I can't type 'pu...' into my browser and autocomplete the site I want due to unimaginative 'homage' here. And now we have another MM!

Other initials are available.

I know, right?  I bet Nissan have been on the blower. ;p

The recent images feed is shocking. Not as bad as http://www.madcowmodels.co.uk though...

....said the ex net-model photographer who is now on PP....come on, think things through a bit better. If we are hypocrites then i'm pretty sure it makes you one too, by the very nature of being here yourself.

In all seriousness though I think you will find the majority of people bitching about PP when it started were on the PS side of the fence. The management mostly. Most of photographers I know were happy to get away from NM due to the general decline of the site and the lack of fucks given by the management.

It looks to be a lot more usable on mobile, which is quite a big deal (not for images, but messaging, castings etc).
