Models - Do you tick glamour because it's an option?

We could have "Classic Hollywood Glamour" and "Modern Page 3 Glamour"................

I like that idea, gives a clearer idea of style.

Heck, I've said something sensible. Apparently.

I thought I was ill. That confirms it.

Careful, if you make a habit of it, people will start to expect it :-P

LOL. There's no danger of that happening!  I'm wrong far more often than I'm right and I have the portfolio to prove it. I may just make sensible contributions an annual event. And if it's today (on a Bank Holiday weekend) that'll make it easier for me to remember when to do it.
Or try to.........

I think mr Harper deserves an apology, and Ian t is definitely a glamour photographer!

No, absolutely not, I don't deserve or want an apology, after all, any publicity is good publicity, as they say :)

However, I would like to clarify one small matter, someone likened my style to Razzle and Escort, but I don't shoot those levels, nothing like them, whereas, the person I was compared to, does shoot those levels, albeit infinitely better quality than you will find in either publication.

I said I don't want an apology and meant it, I don't, no need at all, but any model I have shot, who appears on my portfolio, just might think they deserve one, after all, they might not be too delighted to be labelled as chavvy and/or duck-faced.

Who is Ian T? Somebody enlighten me as I thought I know the difference between art nude or glamour. :)

Isn't art nude what you tell the missus/your friends and aquaintances you are shooting if you think they would object to you shooting glamour?

Don't know, haven't got that problem. Do what I want anyway :)

I personally get really pissed off that most models tick 'Fashion' and (especially) 'Editorial' like its some kind of default for models when most do not have the look for either. I would like to search for fashion models and have a good search result.

Oh I don't know, could make it a new glamour category to go with the others already suggested. Certainly bought a  smile to my face. Needs to have the word "orange" in there somewhere though.

Indeed, you're 5'2" weigh 10 stone and none too dissimilar to an oompaloompa. That's never seen fashion luv!

Well I'll offer you a partial one, or at least an attempted explanation for my part in it.
I came up with the Razzle/Escort comparison based on the overall feel of the images, the brighter colours of outfits and accessories used is more street-level than the sort of sets used in Mayfair/Penthouse. M/P Models, sets, overall production values have traditionally been more up-market and have given them more of an inaccessible fantasy feel, compared to R/E looking a bit more girl-next-door. Does that make any sense?
I never even looked at the levels portrayed, I was just going off an overall general impression of the style. So I'm sorry if you thought that was my implication.

As for the chavvy and duck-faced part, that wasn't anything to do with me.
And I agree that did sound harsh and unfair on the models.

Until "clothed" is added as an option fashion is probably the default choice for this level. :)

I would still like to see "Levels" and "Styles" separated out into some sort of matrix arrangement, so a model could indicate that she might do, for example, Lingerie in Fashion style, but not Lingerie in Glamour style.

I once read that the difference between fashion and glamour was this:

Fashion - model appears to be saying "fuck you"

Glamour - model appears to be screaming "fuck me"

Personally I reckon it's probably a really hard genre to get "right" as in my opinion a photoshoot is one of the least sexual environments around, therefore a fair bit of acting and emotion has to go in to get the feeling across to the viewer. I don't reckon I could do it, would like to have a go sometime, but wouldn't be surprised if I put the viewer more in mind of a constipated duck than a sexual being.

lol can we have clothed as an option ;)

I'd love to give fashion a go, I had it ticked but removed it not that long ago as I wasn't sure I was right for the style, but I may have a try at it in future.

I'm surprised so many tick it because it is there, I always assumed glamour involved topless (showing my ignorance) but then someone commented on one of my photos being a good glamour shot and that surprised me, if I can do it without getting my boobs out I'll be more interested.
