My interest in photography began years ago, as a child using a Kodak Brownie. Some years later, I purchased a Nikon F - one of the all time great cameras, and began to study photography. Although the F was high end for its day, it left most decisions to the photographer.

My career as a computer engineer, and later as President and CEO of a small company left little time for photography, and for years, I regressed to point-and-shoot cameras - they were small and convenient, and took surprisingly good snapshots.

After retiring, my interest in photography grew once again. I found much had changed. New DSLRs did so much that would have been impossible with the cameras of the past, but the technology was complex. To meet the challenges, I have taken formal classes, attended seminars and training sessions, read extensively, and practiced, practiced, and practiced some more. The challenges extend far beyond the camera, to lighting, composition, and subject. Now, the more I learn, the more I realize there is to know!

Photography has become a full time avocation for me. I am working with my wife as my assistant, and supporter. We now devote a part of almost every day to some aspect of photography.

We enjoy shooting beautiful landscapes, sunsets, beaches, and historical locations. We pay attention to time of day, clouds, shadows, and obstructions. We watch for backgrounds that can be distracting, where a slight change of position can make the difference in a good shot and a great one.

We love working with models, as people give life and scale to photos. We watch for personalities, and try to capture the essence of the model, in dress, pose, expression, and setting. Everything matters.
