Second, long overdue, shoot with Valentina! Still grinning like a Cheshire Cat! I wanted some high contrast fashion beauty images and I'm now looking at the images on the big screen and am totally blown away!

Valentina communicated well for the outset, and we arranged and re-arranged as time went by, but finally we shot earlier today. She is a true professional at the craft, knows how to work the light, poses freely and takes direction to that minutest stretch of the imagists pernickety-ness well! :-)

All in all a great shoot! Definitely not the last time! 100% recommended.

Valentina came to the rescue when a model dropped out of an event I had planned at very short notice. Despite the long drive , she arrived on time with loads of enthusiasm and an infectious smile . Valentina is the perfect model , she has such a fantastic look and a personality to match. I had warned her in advance that it might be muddy (and it was!) but she didn’t mind and she also made sure that everyone captured some great images. Without doubt she is one of the nicest models I have met on Purple Port and I can recommend her 100%

Valentina and I have just finished our *first* shoot (I hope it's the first of many).

We went out on the sandbank that avails at low-tide on Hayling Island, its a short stroll from the car park to the place we can cross at Gunner Point, and then the wonderful weirdness of the sandbank was really enjoyed. We shot a fair amount of beauty imagery (natural light is not my strength) and some aerial imagery with a small drone.

Valentina is beautiful, her Italian accent and infectious smile are to die for. (Why is there so little smiling in beauty imagery?) It was a supper chilled out shoot - no changes possible given how very public the site is, but her chosen dress suited the mood exactly.

100% recommended.

After a gap of almost a year, I have just done my sixth shoot with the stunning Valentina. As always her pre-comms were spot-on, which resulted in her turning up with all the agreed clothes and ready to make some more absolutely excellent pix. Fortunately the weather improved to be a mixture of light showers and sunny periods and not the predominantly wet day that was originally forecast for today. Nevertheless when the sun was hiding, the accompanying breeze resulted in Valentina getting chilled.

She is a superb person to work with: professional, friendly, and chatty throughout, who needs no direction at all and always goes the extra mile to produce the shots I am looking for. Shooting with her is always very enjoyable, but unfortunately the time invariably passes far too quickly.

Thank you very much again for another great shoot, Valentina; you were, as always, totally superb. :-) Having now looked at the photos I can see many that I like very much, so very well done :-)

As may be deduced from the above and without a shadow of doubt, I continue to unreservedly recommend her to one and all :-) :-) :-)

After a delay due to Covid (me) I finally got to meet and shoot with Valentina at Inspire Studios yesterday. Our pre-shoot comms were excellent and Valentina brought lots of outfits so that we could shoot the styles that we had discussed. I found Valentina to be a delightful and helpful person to shoot with; she is intuitive and created great poses so that our shoot was a really creative collaboration :-) We shot a variety of styles in four different areas of the studio space and Valentina was enthusiastic from start to finish. Thanks Valentina for a great day.

Have just done my fifth shoot with Valentina, where my goal was to contrast the starkness of the winter colours with the stunning beauty that is Valentina. As I have mentioned in previous references, her pre-comms were again spot-on, resulting in me knowing, without a shadow of doubt, that we had all the ingredients for another superb shoot. However true to form, the British weather again did its best to ensure that she was quickly frozen, to the extent that we agreed to shorten the shoot. Having said that though, Valentina, being the true professional that she is, continued to give it her all throughout, producing very high quality results. :-)

Thank you again Valentina very much for enduring the cold conditions, you were again supremely excellent :-) :-) ; I very much look forward to our next shoot, when hopefully it will be warmer. :-)

Today I did my fourth shoot with the highly talented and stunningly beautiful Valentina at a rural Hampshire location, where the autumn sun highlighted some superb changing natural colours, to provide many excellent backdrops. As with our other three shoots, Valentina's pre-comms were spot-on, meaning that I knew she would arrive with all the right outfits to make many more 1st class shots. Having not been to the area myself for a good few years, I relied on my sat-nav to get me to the agreed location. However it had other ideas and decided to send me on a journey into the unknown which ended in the middle of nowhere. In consequence I was nearly an hour late in meeting up with Valentina, though true to her professional style, she greeted me as though I had arrived on time and without any hint of sarcasm or irritation in her voice. During the ensuing 3 hours she worked hard to produce many many excellent poses, injecting her own ideas into the shoot too. I consider we work very well together as a team, and I know before we start, that even if I gave no direction/suggestions at all, I would end the shoot with exactly the captures I was seeking - today further confirmed that.

As well as her physical beauty already mentioned, Valentina possesses a strong inner beauty, which manifests itself in her relaxed, friendly and happy nature, coupled with her great sense of humour and desire to bring her very best to a shoot. She is a real pleasure to work with, and it goes without saying that I continue to recommend her 100%.

Thank you very much for another fun-filled and excellent shoot Valentina, you were, as always totally brilliant. Looking forward to our next shoot to capture the winter colours, with, if we are lucky, some snow too :-) :-) :-)

Yesterday I did my third shoot with the super talented and stunning Valentina, who is an absolute and total joy to work with. :-) This time we chose a waterside location near Southampton for our 3 hour shoot. As with our previous shoots, she was ready on time with all the outfits we had discussed in her first rate pre-comms. The shoot itself went like a dream, as I knew it would, as she has the ability to anticipate the expressions and stances I am looking for, with very little direction. As well as her natural beauty, she possesses an inner beauty too, which translates into producing the most amazing high quality results I could ever wish for. Without any question, I completely recommend her 100% and am looking forward to our next shoot, hopefully in July. Thank you very much Valentina for a most enjoyable afternoon, you were brilliant :-) :-) :-) :-)

An Eye for Beauty

I knew from my first contact with Valentina, that I was going to enjoy her company and that we would have a lovely shoot together. Absolutely true! She bounced into the studio and was on fire with creativity. The 2 hour session soon went and I certainly hope for a longer one later in the year. Valentina came with a fine array of outfits and wore them to perfection. I just love her wavy chestnut hair, big blue eyes, fair skin and freckles - not what I was expecting from an Italian. I love listening to her, and her English is so good but with that excitement one expects from that region. There was a real spark between us during the shoot and having had a quick look at the downloads I am going to have a tough choice to narrow the selection. We shot with natural and artificial light and used a number of backgrounds, to enhance the outfits. It was a brilliant shoot. And when I have finished these edits I am sure I will be planning a fresh encounter with the lovely Valentina. Highly recommended.

Take in the Alps

Comes a time on nearly every shoot, when beauty rises up ... literally .... occupies my lens ... inhabits it for a while. It’s a profound experience for this here photographer. And here’s the thing: after confirming just how delightful, warm and generous Valentina is as a woman simply by the way in which she greeted me on arrival at the shoot location, and I wasn’t surprised by this based on the sense of connection she exudes in all her communications, her beauty, in all its glory, in all its unfettered, unbridled joy, rose up and made itself/herself present again and again and again. This recurrence of beauty making herself present in the shot is not something that happens. That is until Valentina walks onto my set :-) And if you don’t get what I mean, or have any doubts before booking her, please look at our shots from this shoot. Furthermore, please peruse her port. Her beauty in the purest sense, which is the love she has to bring, the joy she has to share, the emotional terrain she can muster, is everywhere to behold even in her most commercial offerings. That’s not all: on the shoot Valentina skilfully arranged her body within the setting and the attire in which she was clothed to not only make me constantly feel that I was shooting the front cover of Vogue, but also embody the experience of being in an exquisite setting, in being in an outfit that’s truly hers even if it has come from me as it did on this occasion. Her movement was both graceful and sophisticated, and completely natural throughout. Her posing was brilliantly conceived, intelligent and grounded in dedication and commitment. The emotional terrain she explored was intensely rich and profoundly engaging. For example, she brought a sense of vulnerability to her most fiery appearance and a sense of fire to her most beguilingly innocent expression. For me those complexities, and subtleties of expression are the most difficult for a model to achieve. Not so for Valentina; they come to her with ease, naturally emerging from her connection to the story she is telling - the story that always comes when a sense of place, a styling and the personalities of the protagonists - model, photographer and mua - come together and gel as they did on this shoot. More than this, and such is Valentina’s passion and professionalism, I sincerely believe that she always gives everything she has to a shoot. Her port confirms that truth. On this shoot there was even a little bit more coming from her: a kind of exuberant willingness to explore new ground, new experiences, simply for its own sake - simply for the joy and sense of freedom it brings to her. That’s the greatest gift any photographer can receive. So my feeling now is that I found treasure. Now all I need to do is to continue to delight in that finding by working with her on many occasions, and with different ideas and stylings, because I sincerely believe she is capable of anything. She is certainly more than able to make me appear to be a much better photographer than I am. What I’m hoping for is that incredible miracle: that her talent, brilliance and excellence can rub off on me and make me a much better photographer. That started to happen on the shoot - I’m sure of it. And she did it, not through conversations, though we had plenty of those, all of which were delightful and fascinating, but through her sensitivity to my lens, to my approach, to my way of creating an image ... even to my adherence to chance methods and spontaneous, instinctive ideas. This ability of hers comes from an ancient place. It’s in her DNA. You can’t construct that ability. Of course you can trust it, build on it, apply it as she continually did on this shoot.

For each of the sets Valentina inhabited a completely different character, one she had constructed, like any talented actor, out of her mirror image. She joined each persona to that specific area of the garden which I had selected. This approach enabled us to stage each set as we might in a theatre. I’m telling you this because it suggests to me that Valentina dramatises each and every shot according to the character she has created - the one that is experiencing this new event. My understanding is therefore that there is no end or limit - in terms of uniqueness and originality - to her ability to discover new visual material and new forms of expression to work with; that’s how good she is. If you like working with the best then you need to book her while she remains available. I for one will be doing just that. For truly I feel humbled by her talent, blessed that I even met her, and off the scale celebratory that I worked with her. I’m just so blooming grateful.

Have just returned from another amazing shoot in Southampton with the stunning Valentina. What more can I add to my comments after our first shoot - she remains an absolute joy to work with, not only because of her very efficient pre-comms but also the 100% effort that she puts into posing every shot, thus enabling me to totally achieve the goal for the shoot. We worked through many different outfits which allowed me to get the very best out of the variable lighting conditions which existed today. Whilst she needs absolutely no direction to produce excellent results, Valentina is also very happy to try many new poses as well. Having both red hair and freckles, definitely gives her a Triple A rating from me. :-) Thank you Valentina for another very enjoyable afternoon and looking forward to our next shoot :-)

I had my first shoot with Valentina today in Southampton. Following on from her impeccable pre-comms, Valentina arrived on location well ahead of time with all the outfits that we had previously discussed. She is a highly talented person, whose previous experience is very evident, thus needing absolutely no direction to produce stunning results. She is totally versatile, very friendly, and has a great sense of humour with a relaxed personality. The time passed so quickly that she very kindly agreed to extend the shoot thus enabling me to obtain all the captures I was looking for. I look forward to working with her again during October to capture some more autumn colours. Recommended 100% :-) :-)

This was the second time in six days that I had the pleasure of working with Valentina on two different Andrew Appleton courses. The first time she was wearing a period dress and this second time more normal/modern clothes.

Valentina is very friendly, enthusiastic, relaxed, has a good sense of humour and is beautiful as well. She is happy to take direction or pose freely if preferred. She has a very classic look so is able to model many styles.

I really enjoyed my time photographing Valentina and look forward to working with her again.

Attended a workshop yesterday Run by Andrew Appleton , Valentina was our model for the day, with myself being a newbie in portrait photography Valentina soon put me at ease with her professionalism and the way she needed very little direction.

This was the first time I had met Valentina - and I’m so glad I did. From the first point of contact, she delivered everything you could wish for from a model. Excellent communication and rapid response times are always a sign of reliability and Valentina scores highly on both. She arrived punctually, beautifully presented, with a lovely smile, a gorgeous wedding dress and a selection of wardrobe items appropriate to the casting.

We began shooting and I was impressed but not surprised by Valentina’s professionalism and ability to take direction. When running a workshop with students who may or may not be confident with directing a model, this is particularly important. They all loved her. The course was all about how to pose subjects and some of the shoot involved Valentina working with male model/actor, Sam Dunning. She was able to drop into couples posing as effortlessly as in the individual shots.

Apart from being a very beautiful lady, Valentina has warmth and dedication in equal measure. I am very pleased to have found her and will definitely be contacting her for future castings. Valentina is new to Purpleport but I think her calendar will be filling up fast!
