References for Umfy

During my recent modelling tour of Germany, I had the great pleasure of shooting with this wonderful gentleman for a whole day around Düsseldorf! During which time; we not only achieved no-end of stunningly creative images indoors/working around creative concepts and ideas... But outdoors as well! I honestly cannot begin to express how productive a day it was, and how lovely a person Jason is to work with. But I’ll do my best to give others an insight into our shoot/what to expect if you’re also planning a shoot.

Communications;

I got in touch with Jason once I had my cities and routes planned and I knew where I was going to be. I realised that he hadn’t shot for some time based on his references (which he also confirmed as we got talking) so I was thrilled when he messaged back saying he was game for it, and then the creative discussion to put our shoot together began! :D Jason was utterly brilliant with his comm’s... Getting back to me quickly and concisely, in-between his own busy schedule. Because the day of our shoot was the same day that I would leave Düsseldorf to head North continuing my travels; there were a few different options such as taking the last few hours at my nice little apartment that I had arranged to shoot from whilst in the area before checking out, doing location (keeping checks in the weather) and shooting at Jason’s place. In the end, we opted for all 3! :D And even up until the day itself, we stayed in-the-loop and planned brilliantly as a team from the very start - Jason’s commitment to finding good locations was just marvellous and meant that in the day we would dive straight into a plan/flow and know exactly what we were to try and achieve. It’s probably the most organised shoot in the history of model photography. :)

Shooting:

We had planned to execute a large range of styles which all required skills and an eye for the shot from the photographers side - from tending carefully to angles that were possible within the shooting parameters, getting the light right and letting ideas flow. So it was quite a lot for Jason to take on/think about! We started in an all-natural light environment at my apartment which varied from soft light to harsh light... A lot of thinking power put on the photographer, but Jason just sailed through it. :D Very elegant and pretty pictures in the bag after the first part of the day - then we went outside. And let’s just say: I was bouncing with excitement with some of the images we grabbed whilst out and about! Jason’s location scouting paid off massively as we went straight there and cracked on: from hair flicks in a lake to greenery and open meadows. He took on every challenge with total calmness, and the result was a camera full of beautifully taken pictures. Finally: we sealed off the shoot with a milk bath set that Jason had prepared especially for. :) Even going out to get flowers for an extra creative element - here is a photographer with a sublime eye and drive for the images he is striving to create. The biggest regret was simply running out of time towards the end of our shoot - we got into such a roll that the hours seemed to just vanish into thin air! But certainly of the pictures we did create; many had a magical quality and it was definitely a successful shoot from where I was looking in. :) Shooting in any location which differs from a studio poses countless extra challenges to the photographer where they have to adapt to the surroundings to get the shot. Jason did this again and again with each set.

Etiquette:

Obviously any model who is arranging a shoot with a photographer takes reassurance in knowing that the person they are going to be working with is kind and respectful. Jason ticks that box 1000%. :) I felt comfortable at all times throughout our shooting session and well looked after, which does put a more positive vibe on the working atmosphere. We had a generous lunch break, worked well as a team/chatted loads as we worked with the good rapport. Jason was wanting to ensure I was happy at all times: even asking if needed a break when shooting in the water at the lake/if I was getting cold and it was actually super refreshing given the surprisingly hot day we had!

So yes, I recommend him very highly indeed! :) Thank you so much Jason, really hope to shoot again at some point!

Rachel Bared

I got brought in last minute to a shoot with Jason and Shaine after another modelled cancelled last minute. I didn't know what to expect but Jason immediately made me feel comfortable and at ease in the space. His professionalism was one of the most prominent aspects of the day with lots of light changes and costume changes to get the best out of our shooting time. He encouraged us to be ourselves and enjoy our shoot time, without being patronising and we ended up with some amazing images. I hope you have a great tour of europe Jason and have as much fun with all the models you use as you did with Shaine and myself. Safe travels x

Shaine

I could tell Jason is a brilliant photographer just from his pre-comms. Despite jet-lag he worked tirelessly all day, experimenting with interesting angles and open to any new ideas. Ashton is a fabulous location for a fetish shoot with its wealth of props and toys and furniture and we had a great time. Luckily I got to do some impromptu GG naked acrobatics with Rachel Bared that was great fun too. Umfy's images were full of fresh perspective, he in immensely easy-going, comedic and as a result 8 hours flew by. Highly recommended! Sx

Lenah

I had my first shoot with Umfy today and what a fantastic way to spend a sunny afternoon! For four hours Umfy did not run out of ideas and his creativity is just amazing. We have done a variety of poses using the garden, home studio and the house and definitely feel it was time well spent. He is genuine, communicates well before and during the shoot, team player and if need be, he directs clearly. Am so happy to have had a chance to work with him and if you get a chance to work with him while he is in Europe please go ahead.

Definitely recommended.

A short notice shoot that became a great one, Jason was punctual, professional and had a great eye.

Glad I got to shoot with him and hopefully will again one day, would recommend.
