I hug my body for all the damage I’ve caused to it, both intentional and not.

I hug my body in empathy for the damage and harm that other people caused it.

I hug my body for sticking with me when I wanted to be rid of it.

I hug my body for all the criticism it’s received from myself and others.

I hug my body in appreciation, in kindness and in gratitude that it’s mine.

I hug my body in relief that I’ve finally seen it for what it is.
