RPH Photography

Hello, I'm Richard. I'm 27 and have had a keen interest in photography for 12 years. When you ask most photographers what they like most about photography, they'll answer with the seemingly pre-programmed response "capturing that one moment in time." I've personally never felt much of a connection with that statement, what I love most about photography is having the ability to show people the beauty I see in everything and everyone.  

Starting with still life, and landscape subjects, I quickly discovered that I really enjoyed photographing people. For a long time just focusing on families and children, as it was simple and I like to see the look of joy people get when you hand them pictures of their family and loved ones.

From there I had a bit of experience photographing weddings, which I tend to avoid now. Although I love shooting them, I don't feel 100% confident shooting them alone and try to stay as a secondary shooter. Throughout the time I've been shooting I have dabbled with model photography using mainly friends instead of actual models, then a couple of years ago I got a request to shoot a model on a time for print basis (a term i'd never heard of until then). That's when I really got the bug for that type of work. Since first trying, I feel I've learnt a lot although I don't have chance to shoot much as i work full time (in a camera shop) so I don't have much to showcase at the moment but i'm hoping to change that.
