The Lincoln Photography Studio

PLEASE NOTE:  I HAVE GIVEN NOTICE TO TERMINATE MY LEASE & WILL BE CLOSING THE STUDIO IN EARLY FEBRUARY 2024.  I AM TAKING BOOKINGS UP UNTIL THE END OF JANUARY 2024.

Minimum hire is 4 hours.  4 hour hire of the studio by a photographer with one model will cost £130 and 8 hour hire (by a photographer with one model) will cost £240.  Group & Commercial hire rates are available on request.

The studio is in Lincoln LN4 in the UK. It is a large, light and airy loft-style space on the first floor of St John's Craft Workshops in Lincoln.  The dimensions are 10 m by 6 m.  Height is 2.5 m to the roof beams and 4.3 m to the apex.

This is a fully equipped professional photography studio.  The lights are all Godox - three Godox QT600ii high speed studio strobes, and one AD300Pro battery powered strobe on a large boom arm.  The QT600ii (Storm II 600) studio strobes are the top of the Godox range and have extremely short flash duration and so they are ideal for capturing movement - ballet dancers jumping etc.  They also have very short recycling times, so you can shoot (say) 10fps with them and they will keep up (depending on power setting).  They work just as well for still portrait photography.  There are wireless triggers available for loan for Canon, Nikon, Sony and Olympus - but bring your own if you have them.  There is a selection of seamless paper backdrops, a feature, panelled wall and a good selection of props.  A full range of lighting modifiers is provided.  There is a free-standing backdrop support system if you have backdrops of your own that you wish to bring.

The studio has its own hair and make-up station in a screened-off changing area.  Hot drinks are available along with a fridge stocked with a selection of soft drinks and bottles of water.  There is plenty of free on-site parking.  The craft workshops have their own spotlessly clean toilets on site.

The studio is on the first floor and accessed by an external staircase (20 steps).  Unfortunately, this may make it unsuitable for some users.

Some weekday & weekend bookings are still available in 2023, but I am moving to shooting in the studio full time with my own clients so please book as far in advance a possible to secure the dates you require.  I will continue to host studio days & events with selected models and I will still run photography workshops.

I do aim to reply to messages within 24 hours, but I am also a wildlife photographer.  So if I'm on a trip somewhere remote, then it might be a few days - but this is only once or twice a year.
