Mark and I worked together during my 1st visit to the Isle Of Man; I was chuffed to buts that I was able to incorporate a stop on the island with my Irish tour because it was reliant on photographers being available on the specific dates I was passing by. But the shoots all came together and the session I had with Mark was a definite blast of total productivity! :D He was game for so many mad-as-hatter ideas, but that said we got some really lush beauty and glamour orientated stuff in the bag too! He's got a cracking eye for an image so it didn't matter what madness we put together with the ideas as we bounced off each other, Mark would take his time to get the light to work with the situation and compose the shot nicely (always a lot more challenging outside of a studio environment!) and by the end of the shoot there was a camera full of some absolutely wicked shots! :)
The shoot took place at Mark's home, the initial plan was to focus on using the flash and see what looks could be generated from that, but his place was really great for shooting in natural light too which gave us a whole host of options. The tea was brewed up first of all after Mark helped me lug my ridiculous number of bags into the house and get settled. We got nattering right away about where and what to start with which then led to just a moment sat where I was doing portrait stuff because the light looked really nice. That's always a sign of a creative person with a good eye because they can take what would otherwise be a regular moment and transform it into an image. :) From that moment it was one shot leading onto another, Mark is such an easy going person to work with and involves the model as much as possible into the creative process which was really nice. Each and every different look worked one way or another, and Mark takes his time on the shots too which I have a huge level of respect for because with any kind of creative activity... It takes a whole lot of thinking on the spot to get the best result with the tools and resources that you have.
I don't need to think twice about giving a high recommendation to Mark: he's a wonderful photographer to work with an he gives totally professional etiquette on shoots whilst taking steps to look after the model and ensure they are warm enough/have topped up with refreshments and just generally in a good place to nail the shoot. The shoot was very relaxed and non-stressed with plenty of chatter, banter and teamwork vibes. The hospitality I received was perfect and then it was a lovely added bonus to have that good social side to the shoot with Mark being such an easy person to get on with. Definitely a shoot that ticked all the boxes and when I come back to the Isle Of Man, I would hope very much that Mark and I can work together once more! :D
Thank you so much Mark, until next time!
