Back again...

This time, a joint shoot with another photographer, and one model.

Certainly, there are varied backgrounds to be had, but that's not the prime reason that you really ought to book the whole building for your shoot - it's the variety of lovely and delicately different ways the light falls around the building.

For me, it's a wonderful playground for making images, if you go with an open mind and a couple of suitable lenses. Delight awaits!

My first time working at this wonderful place, on a joint shoot with John Duder.

A great place to create photographic art, especially as you are surrounded by lots of wonderful Art.

There is lots of potential in various rooms, for getting great images, depending on the placement of the natural light.

The stairwell from the first to second floor is also a great place to shoot.

I hope to return in the future to enjoy this great place again.

I visited the Asylum Artists Studios for the first time earlier this week together with the lovely Bellas Art.

We were made very welcome by Dan who helped to get everything set up for us. He was really helpful.

The actual photo studio is quite small but is ideal for portraits and high key images. The real beauty of the place is the rest of the building which has several rooms that are rented out to local artists. These are available to shoot in and provide some interesting backdrops.

Many thanks to Dan and to the Crimson White for making the introductions. Very impressed and look forward to shooting there again soon.

I had the pleasure of working with TheCrimsonWhite for the closing section of mer model day at the Studios.

The photographic studio is compact, and allows portraits and full length images, with bright constant lighting.

The added bonus was being able to shoot in a variety of other areas, using the artwork in production as a backdrop - this was inspiring, and led to a very varied serties of images, all of which were fun to produce, and which are, I think, going to be unusual and delightful when processed.

I'm likely to return...

I arranged a shoot with The Crimson White model at this studio and for the use of lots of other rooms for natural daylight.

The studio itself is compact with a continuous lighting set-up. I'm not used to working with this type of lighting so one of her colleagues set it up for me whilst we were shooting in the other artists rooms... this was a big help to start off.

Many of the rooms were great, they were large so you could distance yourself from the model and there were some smaller rooms were it was lovely to get the more 'intimate' images.

The Crimson White is a great model to work with and this was a super place to shoot at... it's different from the norm for studios I've used, but I really like it.

I'm hoping she does another event like this again... highly recommended for both studio and model.

Had my first shoot here today. Very conveniently located in City Centre -railway station nearby. Welcomed most warmly and helpfully by The Crimson White and we shot our second photoshoot together (see separate reference).Lighting is good and I obtained the images I wanted - headshots and fashion. Backdrop is white currently but others will be available and there is a plastered wall for special effect purposes. Props are available. Thoroughly recommended.

I've been using the photostudio for a couple months now and love the space.

Because it's within an artist studio you get the bonus of meeting and working with lots of creatives with interesting backdrops.

I feel completely happy modelling there and the team of photographers are super respectful.
