I think we all wear masks at some point and they can serve a purpose in maintaining roles and boundaries. But they also stop us from being free and easy with ourselves and others. It's a bit like our currently wearing of face masks - they are protective, but stop us breathing freely. Oscar Wilde once said: "Be yourself. Everyone else is taken." Lavina is a brilliant interpretative model and she did an amazing job in portraying the tension between the difficulty and freedom inherent in the of destroying of the mask.
