I am an experienced photographer who, over the last 24 years, has done quite a lot of model photography, both in studio, 'on location' and outside. I describe myself as a serious hobbyist photographer; I've sold a bit of work now and then but not enough to make a living at it. I have self-published 50 photo books, 13 of which are dedicated to model photography of various kinds.

I am happy to photograph female models with any level of experience, amateur or professional. I am interested in capturing form and shape as well as the character of the model in a whole range of different types of shots and lighting. I 'pop-art' some of the images. Generally I go for the more natural look. I do not process my photographs to make people look thinner or fatter, or to make models look like China dolls by smoothing out every imperfection. Neither do I use my camera like a machine gun. My idea is to slow down, relax and have fun taking the photos which I hope ensures that the model is treated and respected like a person, not an object.

I take a few infra-red photos from time to time - more usually on outside shoots. This can be achieved simply by popping a filter on the front of the lens which blocks all visible light and admits only infra-red. Also, I have taken up pencil sketching again, after a break of quite a few years. So my portfolio contains quite a number of pencil sketches and a small number of infra-reds, and even a couple of paintings, done recently.
