Against one wall of my studio hangs a series of landscape works that I've been working on over the Summer, and a continuation of Winter Work. Whether by accident or design this drawing projects Mick into that landscape; the mystical landscape into which my studio nestles. This landscape has a known history; a nearby ancient Iron-Age Hillfort surrounded by forests whose trees are direct descendants of ancient forests through which great and bloody battles took place, and where a King was killed. https://ko-fi.com/post/The-Secret-Lake-B0B4HVNFH

  One of the things I found most appealing about answering the casting call was Mick's stipulation of anonymity, and his use of masks.. which lend themselves to projections into fantastical situations.. his desire,  whilst in the eye of the camera, was not about self.

  I've enjoyed the outcome of this very quick drawing, and it's enormous possibilities..
