This is the late fifties. A very dirty Stanier Black 5 number 45404 restarts a fitted freight as it pounds around Wigan on the avoiding line. it is early spring and the early morning sun catches a paperboy as he stops to record the number. His new bike that he got for passing the eleven plus is propped on the fence.
