I am a long-term amateur photographer, having started out back in the days of film. I have mainly shot landscapes and architecture, with a bit of sport thrown in at times, but a few years ago I decided that I wanted to start photographing people, which is how I ended up here.

I don't think I have a fixed style, and I approach each shoot on its own merits rather than trying to apply the same formula every time. I was quite flattered when one model said she thought my shoots all looked different to each other. 

While I mainly shoot in digital, I have also started using film again, developing my own b&w.
I convert a lot of digital to black and white, or use a few presets, but don't generally go in for extensive editing work.
Shapes, angles, shadows and light interest me; I like derelict and dilapidated locations; tattoos are interesting; I also like simplicity and clarity.

I'll admit to struggling with the creative side (I have a logical mind rather than a creative one, which is probably why I work in IT), so I do like to work with models who have their own ideas - but I know I can take good pictures.
