Caged in a Gibbet

The contraption is a Gibbet and is one of our most favoured pieces of kit amongst guests. A Gibbet was used in ye olde times for public execution or humiliation. Our Gibbet came off a naval vessel and was used to hang crew until they died, to drag them along the water to drown them or to hang them up as an example to others of their crime. It is very much an authentic antique and the few sensitive souls we have had in the dungeon have found it difficult to stand in it.......description courtesy of Townhouse studios =D
