Homemade Ring Light in the "Box of Doom"

Bit of an interesting setup. I used "ring light" as a tag, but in reality, this was just a bathroom fluorescent lamp that I coopted for the situation. I built a box frame out of wood for the model to stand in, about 1.5m wide on each side, and about 2m high. Lined the inside of the frame with black paper. The stuff you can see on the back wall is because the black paper already had some gold leaf on it from a previous shoot and I was recycling. I cut a hole in one side of the paper to get my lens through and that's about it.

The total cost of the project was about next to nothing because the bathroom lamp was temporarily taken from my bathroom, I reused the black paper, and the wood used for the frame was spare from another project and was further used for other projects later on.

It was labelled the "Box of Doom" due to it being pitch black inside when the light was off :)
