References for Shadows and LIght

After having vetted and worked through my list of togs that WTWW me, I contacted David and had the pleasure of organising a shoot with him finally! He was travelling close to my location last week and so we organised a shoot at Aura Photographic. This was David’s first shoot in a couple of years (with a new camera too!) but he picked everything up straight away and we got the 2 hour shoot with great success. The focus of this shoot was dance, of which we got a few contrasting sets shot 😊 The BOC images were looking incredible on the day and I really can’t wait to see the final edits! David was an absolute pleasure to work with and I firmly believe we created some fab work together. Thanks again David and I look forward to sharing our work in due course and working with you again one day soon!

It was my first time working with david as part of my tour to Gloucester. He booked me for a few hours at F/8 studio in Chester. We worked on a few things shooting a mix of fashion and nude. I really enjoyed the shoot and i think we got some great images. I would recommend him for sure and i hope we get o do it again sometime.

I worked with David for the first time recently: he attended a workshop at my studio. This was an entirely positive experience, and he was a pleasure to work with. David is an excellent photographer who shoots with confidence and good technique, and his images of our model (Mischkah) were fabulous. I’m very happy to leave my recommendation here for David! We had a full days shoot in a small studio with limited props. This didn’t stop us from creating great images and actually enabled us to be very creative with lighting!

I found him very approachable, amenable and easy to work with! Friendly, respectful and professional throughout, I worked to nude levels comfortably and felt safe.

I had a wonderful shoot with David last week in Newport .

Davids communications are first class , he sent across a shoot plan that explained everything and it was very helpful . All photographers should do this . It shows that he cares about the shoot and helps the model to understand what the photographer is looking for .

David is also a very kind person who picked me up from the station , provided plenty of snacks and ensured that we had plenty of breaks during the shoot . He is always very aware of model safety and comfort and it is a great trait to have .

During the shoot , we didn't have the best location to work in but David did his best to adapt and made it work . He was happy to listen to all our ideas or tips which made for better images .

David comes highly recommend and I think all photographers should admire the way that David conducts a photoshoot .

I thoroughly enjoyed working with David who is good company and easy to talk to. He was well-prepared, thoughtful and considerate and communication before and during the shoot was excellent. I found his ideas interesting and enjoyed being able to interpret them freely with a little added direction to make the fine adjustments where necessary.

I had my first and hopefully not my last shoot with David at Newport Museum. The shoot went like a dream, David's composition and knowledge of light, tones and angles are phenomenal. I just adore the images we got together.

David is incredibly easy to get along with, whilst also being professional, fun and an excellent photographer all the best things. We spoke throughly about the shoot plans before hand and discussed plans in details to make sure we could bring his amazing ideas to bring to life.

On the day David booked out the Museum giving us privacy to shoot and hired an MUA to paint me like an oil painting. I honestly loved what we got and the images are incredible!

I worked with David yesterday as a makeup artist for a concept of his which was great and very creative,and got to work in Newport art gallery which is an added bonus being surrounded by amazing art work. it was a great morning he was very welcoming and a real gentlemen,he is very proffessional and communication was fantastic he told me exactly what he was looking for before hand which was great.

Retro Rob

What an absolute pleasure it was shooting with Shadows and Light today at Studio 58 on another stage of the Retro Rob and Melany Tour.

Brilliant pre communication meant not only where we ready to deliver some awesome ideas but that we smashed every one of them.

The images I saw at the back of the camera looked incredible .

The time flew by I hope we get to work again with you real soon it was awesome!

It was such a pleasure to meet and work with David. He booked at slot at a Bristol studio day I was hosting with Retro Rob. We had a very productive shoot, trying out new ideas and poses.

David is fun to work with and very professional. He is positive and encouraging, and keen to share what he is capturing so we can see how to refine out posing.

David is hands down one of the moat pleasant photographers I’ve worked with this year. Legit, gentlemanly, friendly and comfortable to be with all-round.

He is much better with the camera than he lets on - and has a VERY good eye for detail, close-ups and composition.

I’d recommend David to work with other professional models I know, and will be reccomending him to potential clients that require stunning headshots and portrait shots.

Artemis Fauna

I had my first shoot with David just today. We shot at my home studio and on location and well, had a fabulous day!!

The time went by way too quickly to be honest- but in between the chatting we took a load of LOVELY images.

I had to book a last minute doctors app the morning of the shoot- which delayed the shoot by 15 mins- but when I called David to explain he was so lovely on the phone and it wasn't a problem- thank you so much for this.

David is so lovely to work with- relaxed, fun, friendly. I really did enjoy the day and love the results.

Id love to work with David again one day! Can't wait to see the results go up on PP! Thank you so much David :)

I worked with David during a recent trip to Cardiff - he kindly picked me up from the station after my long journey and drove us to Bute Park for a couple of hours. It was David's first location shoot but he chose some lovely spots and created some good images. Despite being new to model photography, I found David to be chatty, friendly and willing to take on my advice. I'd be happy to recommend him to other models.

I totally loved working with David! :D

We worked together during my latest tour of Wales and planned to make some lush body scape images at Bewt Studios. And you can bet your bottom dollar that the results were lush alright!!! :) It was David's first time shooting this style of shot, which I might add: is not as straight forward as people initially think! There's certainly a whole not more to it that simply taking a photo of a section of the body. Well David nailed it didn't he! :D One gorgeously beautiful picture after the next... We focused on the same style throughout the course of the shoot and tried a few different lighting setups, but honestly: the results were so prolific and it goes without saying that this gent has a fantastic eye for a stunningly artistic image.

Prior to the shoot, David's Communications were brilliant! It is always a challenge coordinating mutually workable availability on a tour because there might be only select dates when the model would be passing through an area, plus the photographer may have to juggle their commitments. But David kept me in the loop and responded superbly to get the shoot nailed into the diary with the studio confirmed. I can't thank him enough for that. :) He also knew exactly what he wanted to achieve from the shoot which is valuable for helping a model to be prepared and regardless of the type of shoot you may be planning with him: he's super organised and straight-up so what you discuss beforehand will be what to expect on the day.

As I say: he's a genuinely talented photographer who got straight into seeing and capturing the technical creativity of bodyscape lighting. It's a style I never get bored of seeing because when the lighting works then the results can be sensational… And it takes quite a bit of visual concentration from the photographers side to get the shots we did! The work we created that day was art by every description... Nothing to do with prudishness or anything, it literally had the quality of something you could see in an art gallery. Simples. :)

Finally, he is a completely professional gentleman to work with. He has so much respect for models and will always make certain that the models comfort and safety on a shoot is a big priority. I felt totally at ease working with him from start to finish - we also had a great laugh and chatted gallons whilst working which made a good atmosphere too. I would recommend him very highly to anyone and hope very much to get the chance to work together again before long. :)

I recently had the pleasure of shooting with David, and I highly recommend anyone given the chance jumps at the opportunity. We made the two hours we had together count, and - forgive my immodesty - the images we created are bloody marvellous.

In addition to being a talented and promising photographer who jumps at challenges and poses outside of other photographer's comfort zones, David is a joy to spend time with. A sparkling conversationalist and thoughtful individual - knowing that I was moving to Australia, David brought along some props/gifts to provide the perfect going away gift for me.

David came to one of mine and Adrian Crook's 1:1 tuition days at our home. David is new to model photography and is open to learn and take on different ideas to add to own style as it develops, which is brilliant :)

David is a lovely person, we got on really well and the images he took on the day are just beautiful, we did a studio lighting set and then a natural light shoot in the buttercups-amazing images and then we did an art nude set in our spare room.

David will get better and better as a photographer and he is for sure one to watch :)
