John is just lovely! We first connected and shot together around my neck of the woods a while back: our conversations bringing back all kinds of old-time memories of people we mutually knew in the industry and general Yorkshire chit-chat - we gelled very well! So when John spotted a casting call of mine when I was due to be in the Scarborough area where he bases himself - I was absolutely over the moon to be arranging shoot number two at some really nice places in his neighbourhood this time! 😃

The other thing worth noting is that for this wander across to the East Coast, I was actually beginning a tour. My plan was to go North from here and drive up the Coast; so when I met John my road trip was well underway. 🙂 He also had very kindly offered to put me up between our shooting time which meant that I was right where I needed to be early doors and superbly convenient. It was also so nice having John’s company for that time; he was a perfect host delivering fabulous hospitality, we chatted about all sorts once we finished shooting and could sit/have a cuppa - and John even showed me a good walking route for my daily 3 miles!

For the actual shoot itself: John had sorted out some cracking locations for us to utilise. The sites ranged from secret waterfall lagoons, to urbex/abandoned sites and really gave us contrasting themes to work with! ☺️ We got right into the flow: arty water nymphs and shapes, edgy fashion/fun angles - you name it! We planned very carefully too which meant; thanks to John’s prior local knowledge and recces, we knew exactly what we were going for at each place to hit the productivity train right away. 😃 John had some awesome visions of how to work the locations, he was also happy for me to let me do my thing and embrace the locations as I posed too... It all worked like a well-oiled machine and John captured some really striking images! He’s clearly very much into his photography when he’s out there on the field, and it’s a joy to see. 🙂

Finally, would I recommend John? Most definitely! He’s a true gentleman; bearing a good heart and certainly values models feeling safe/comfortable and secure when they shoot. He has total professionalism in how he works, which comes very naturally to him. And in all honesty: he’s a really nice chap just generally! We enjoyed no end of chatting and bouncing off each other as I say... He’s tremendously easy going/chilled out making him someone that I feel would get on with most people!

So recommendation number two from me! 😃

We had a genuinely lovely couple of hours shooting together at York photo studio - he had a couple of specific pre planned ideas that we made reality, mostly fashion which was a lovely change for me as I’m so used to being a dance model! A very friendly and kind photographer, shoot had an easy flow to it and I hope for us to work together again someday!

I was lucky enough to have had a second shoot with John in Scarborough (beautiful place). John is a lovely gentleman who takes very good care of his models, we did a bit of outdoor shooting throughout which he was extremely kind, offering me his jacket and making sure that I felt okay and felt warm enough. Luckily enough I was very experienced in fighting the cold weather due to spending pretty much my whole life in Scotland.

Once we had our fun outdoors we decided to head towards the warmth of John's home studio and we had good fun doing that also. Plenty of fun and chitchat made our shoot totally fly by as it is effortless to get on well with John. I would highly recommend John to any model who has the opportunity to work with him. He is such a lovely gentleman! Thanks again John!

John was amazing to work with! He is really down to earth, easy to talk to and funny too! He had some amazing and definitely creative ideas we tried out and they worked so well! He likes to use a lot of colours when he shoots and I absolutely loved it as I tend to stick to quite traditional colours and set ups. It was such a great shoot that inspired me to experiment with colours a bit more :) thanks John!

It was a true joy to work with John! Another fellow creative of the Yorkshire county: it transpired that we had known many “mutual” people from shooting over the years, but never actually managed to work with one another until now. But it goes truly without saying that I thoroughly enjoyed working together and hope very much to do so again in the future. :) John is a real gentleman who showed so much passion for his photography; he needs a lot of credit for the good eye that he bears, and also his superb etiquette/enthusiasm to strike a good working relation with the models that he shoots with.

Our opportunity to work together came when I found myself with some relatively short-notice availability to work from home. Despite it being short notice, John’s communications were on-point, and we planned a lovely half-day shoot with total ease making the decision to work both on location at some of my local beauty spots, as well as back at my place where we rocked some fun concepts! :D By the end of the session: we’d nailed arty, story-telling, athletic and quirky style images which looked absolutely top-notch when we reviewed in-between sets. From concept to completion: it was a massively successful shoot which bestowed all the qualities of a highly positive experience with another industry creative. Everything from the images being created to the company on the day was wonderful!

From a photographic perspective, John really had his work cut out! We were shooting in changeable lighting conditions; one minute the light was blindingly strong and contrasting, then it was soft... And then sometimes it was directional, and other times wrap around! From urbex to water, open space to indoors: John really adapted like a pro to all these different scenarios creating stunning images and was all the while happy to work on a team wavelength and receive suggestions. It was one helluva shoot for sure! :D

Aside from producing a LOT of gorgeous photos, we also had a good laugh/chatted lots as we worked and got on really well which made the time fly. John is the very definition of a courteous and professionally-minded photographer and someone I felt 100% comfortable with at all times; both on location, and at my home. Very, VERY highly recommended indeed!! :D

I had my first solo shot with this wonderful man after working with him on a trio last month with Nicole Rayner and rachelle summers.

Right from the pre cons John is always thinking of the model. He informed me a hot water bottle, dressing gown and flask would be pre packed for me, which was fabulous.

We had arranged a location shoot. Not only did John provide a beautiful location but he also visited it the day before to check the conditions where suitable after the recent weather. Also providing me with pictures to get fully inspired.

John collected me from the station and from the get go the conversation flowed easily. He is such a lovely warm character to work with.

We worked the location well. John is great at finding beautiful nature to work with and always has input into the shots.

I am looking forward to working together again soon and can't wait to see our latest results.

Lovely first Shoot with John during my first studio day at YorkPhotoStudio. John is very easy to work with, professional and friendly. We shot a mixture of looks from portraiture to vintage pinup. Love the images I saw back of camera. Hopefully we will shoot again in the future. Highly recommended.

I had a really wonderful with John! This shoot was a trio shoot with two amazing models - Rachelle summers and Maria Jazmin! It was a lot of fun!

John is a great person to shoot with and luck was on our side as we managed to get out on location which proved to be just wonderful! John shoots quickly and efficiently and puts a great deal of effort into the shots! he brought some fabulous ideas to the shoot and was happy to go with any suggestions that we made.

The shots looked just wonderful on the back of the camera! We shot a range of different styles, from nude to ballgowns and wedding dresses.

John was respectful and professional throughout and had a lovely attitude on the shoot. WOuld recommend working with John and i hope to do so again soon!

I had a lovely shoot with John on my recent trip to the area.

I was staying with the beautiful Nicole Rayner and we had planned to do a duo shoot at her home, however the weather was so lovely that we managed to get out on location! Nicole took us to one of her local places that she knew of and we got some stunning art nude work and then finished with some of Nicoles ballgown dresses.

The shoot was really productive and I adore the images from what I saw on the back of the camera - can't wait to see the final results :D

Such a lovely man, with fantastic pre-shoot communications about what he'd like to achieve from the shoot. John was really easy to get along with and great to talk to throughout the shoot. He had some really creative ideas for styling and lighting, and we worked through a range of sets seamlessly.

I'd definitely recommend him and very much look forward to working with him again in the future :)

I had a lovely day out shoot with John and his second shooter David from my home last week :)

Pre comms were great and they arrived early, we had a quick catch up over coffees and teas and then went out on location. We managed to shoot at four different locations including the garden, shooting a mixture of fashion, topless, fashion nude, and art nude throughout the day. They were the perfect team as usual, taking it in turns to shoot or be a look out, had a load of fun as well as got a ton of great shots and I look forward to seeing the results :)

I shot with John for the second time recently- this time on a 1-2-1 basis at my home. Pre comms were good and we had a good plan for what we were going to shoot!

We were working on a helmet newton inspired shoot and I was really impressed with the final images! The back of the camera shots looked great!! John worked really hard to get the right angles and to create some really interesting shots! He was happy to listen to my ideas too so the shoot was a great collaboration!

John was lovely and chatty - time seemed to fly by! He was respectful throughout and we had plenty of breaks.

Reallly enjoyed working with John once again and I hope we can work together again soon! Very recommended!
