Russ is a photographer I had on my bucket list whom I never thought I'd have the opportunity to work with, but thankfully the moons aligned for us on a shoot with the marvellous ZombieCandy. While I was intimidated by the quality of Russ' photography, the fact is that you simply couldn't ask for a more relaxed, enjoyable and downright fun person to work with.

He gives crystal clear direction, is incredibly welcoming of collaborative input, and has great instincts. Brilliantly, he's also one of those photographers who doesn't waste time chasing shots – if you nailed it in one, there's no point taking ten more in an effort to improve it; if it's clearly not working after a few attempts, there's no point trying to polish a turd.

He's cool and creative and considerate and clearly quite good at this lark. If you don't have an RJ Freeman image in your portfolio then your portfolio isn't complete. My highest possible recommendation!

I was blown away with the images me and Russ came up with, It was pleasure to work with him and I can't wait to work with him again. When I went up for our shoot I was greeted with a smile, a lovely cup of tea and he is a wonderful cook as well as a fantastic photographer. We sat down and talked about what we both wanted to get out of the shoot and we achieved it. I was disappointed to leave early though because I had a virus which was very inconvenient as we didn't get to do as many styles as we would of liked (hate flu season). But over all it was outstanding and fantastic.

Thank you Russ and I can't wait to see the final images, VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Worked with Russ over the past few days and what can I say, he is an absolute delight to work with. He gives direction when needed and is very eager to create good images. I had loads of fun on the shoot as well. He's one of those photographers that fails to get a bad picture of you so the only problem is having too many amazing pictures to choose from!

Would recommend him to anyone. :)

I have worked with Russ a few times and this time I stayed with Russ for a few more days to shoot a variety of stuff.

He is good fun and didn't question me too much when I told him we should find a muddy puddle to roll around in... even when i made him throw mud at me :D

Despite being ill, we still managed to do 2 mini shoots and got some awesome images.

He is dedicated, works his balls off to get awesome shots even when ill, reliable and sooo much fun to work with.

Highly recommended, looking forward to my next stay and getting even more creative :D

I had my first shoot with Russ about a month or so ago at his home in Cheltenham accompanied by the lovely Akasha Asylum. He kindly let us stay for a few days and cooked in the evenings. My first impression was that he was down to earth, friendly and charismatic.- then came the photography. Russ's work is superb. He knows exactly what he wants from a shoot with you but will also make you feel at comfortable and is easy to work with. He is very talented at what he does and the finished products were stunning. Couldn't be happier and the photos made an amazing start to my portfolio

If you haven't worked with Russ its time you did. You wont regret it for a second

Had my first shoot with Russ today :)

I had an absolutely amazing time, he is quite frankly awesome ..

Russ gave great direction and whilst being professional made the shoot fun, interesting and relaxed.

I highly recommend and hope to do more shoots with Russ in the near future.

The natural light was fantastic resulting in some brilliant images.

After my first shoot with Russ I can give my honest opinion from both MUA and model point of view, Russ delivered awesomeness continuously the entire time I was there :) The images I received back were fantastic, I highly, highly recommend. :D I can honestly say only good things about this shoot x

I had the privilege of shooting with Russ in August whilst staying at his place for a couple of days. So where to start with my feedback?? Two days filled with banter, handstands, awesome cooking and suicidal balancing on a Swiss ball would've been enough! But coupled with the most amazing shoot with the most amazing photographer it was two days that I won't forget in a hurry! Russ as a person is right up my street - banter by the bucket load and fascinating to chat to. Russ as a photographer enabled me to produce some of my best images ever! Thank you so much for an unforgettable couple of days - and yes I am coming back soon. Team Amazing ;)

It is inspirational working with Russ. I must admit that i was slightly nervous upon meeting him initially due to my own self confidence. I was surprised when from the start it was almost like meeting with an old friend, there was no worries and i had no fears what so ever once i got into the flow and came to an understanding that his relaxed work ethic really pays off. We shot doing some beautiful nudes during my time with Russ and i must say his portraiture work is spectacular. He cooks well, he entertains well, he is highly professional with a great sense of humor and somehow along with all of that still has room to relax and do other activities. I sense that the best part about working with Russ is the fact that there is no rushing, no need to move fast to go places, he knows what he needs/wants and because he knows he will get it done well, there is no need to feel pressured. I need to also thank him for the fact he only gives praise when shooting, there is literally no room for negativity, he only gives you the best of yourself and you see the best parts of you in every shot taken.

Thankfully i will be working with this legend again soon :) -high five-

Worked with Russ over this week and he blew me away. Total talent as a photographer plus a great host. Made me feel very comfortable at all times.. love the results we got, hard to decide the better ones.. Another massive recommendation; would have no hesitation in working with Russ again. What can I say about Russ that hasn't already been said before? He very kindly put me up for the week whilst I was shooting in the area, cooked me lovely food, gave me great advice about my portfolio and then we created some stunning images! Highly recommend any model to work with him :)

I was lucky enough to get the chance to work with Russ a few years ago. I had wanted to shoot with him for ages as I just adore his work. I stayed over at his for a few days with Freya. Russ was so welcoming on arrival and was a perfect host, amazing cook and great company. We created some stunning images, and Russ let me shoot whatever I fancied at the time which allowed my creativity to flow. He respected my levels at all times and I always felt comfortable. His images of me are still some of my favourite to date and I hope that I will get another chance to shoot with him! He is extremely talented at natural light photography and he was able to switch up his style so quickly to suit whatever look and feel we were after. His editing was quick and he sent me the images really quickly which is always a bonus!!!

I cannot begin to describe how fantastic Russ was shooting today.. I'm not really a model - just an mua larking about! The photographs were AMAZING...The food he cooked was AMAZING and how comfortable he made me feel was AMAZING. I couldn't be a happier woman right now! x

I can not praise Russ enough. He is amazing. Whilst I stayed for five days in Cheltenham Russ kindly let me stay at his and let me use his awesome studio for shoots which resulted in such beautiful photos :) We discussed ideas before I went down and picked me up from the station when I got there.

We shot as much as we could together whilst I was there. He is such a professional and so very talented. If I could model for him everyday I would. He showed a side of me that you do not normally see in photos of me which I thought was so beautiful and I want to thank him for that. I can not wait to put these wonderful photos up on my portfolio.

Not only is he a fantastic photographer but he is also so hospitable. He made me feel right at home all the time and even cooked me delicious food :) Thank you so much Russ for the fantastic time and I hope to be back down soon :) If you have a chance to work with Russ do not pass it up.

Had an incredibly speedy shoot with Russ on Sunday after working with TWPhoto in that glorious room. I decided I wanted something "facebook friendly" and half and hour later we had it. Was good fun and he was a very good host, making sure I was fed and watered throughout the day. I love the images. Thanks Russ :)

I did my first shoot with Russ on Saturday and was really excited to work with him as I loved everything in his port as all the photos were so different and imaginative. First thing to say about Russ is his very professional and let's face it he makes amazing photos to. He communicated well before the shoot and the shoot was so relaxed and so much fun the time just flew by. I absolutely love the photo's we got and I can't wait to shoot together again. I shot with Russ for the first time and it was one of my very best shoots to date. Russ made me feel extremely comfortable and relaxed, and the results are evident in our glorious images. Russ is an amazing photographer, to say the least, I honestly feel like a more confident model after our shoot together. We produced such quality images; they showcase both of our talents. I had a very pleasant weekend shoot with Russ. I worked alongside the lovely Caperutica Roja on the first day and shot solo on the second.

Russ was very considerate of the fact that I get shy, especially when working on location. He checked up on me because I wasn't feeling well and made sure that I was comfortable throughout my stay. I felt very safe with him. He also kept me well fed and gave me breaks. I think the only problem with shooting with Russ is trying to narrow down your favourite images! He shoots in a great variety, not just art nudes.

It's been one of the most enjoyable shoots I've had. I'd happily recommend him and would love to work with him again.

I shot with Russ alongside 2 other models (Miss Pixie & Lulu Lockhart) on Tuesday and again just the 2 of us on Wednesday.

Russ as always was a pleasure to work with and I had a great time working with him. Always grat fun trying out new ideas and producing high end quality results, I can't wait to work with him again.

Ever so pleased with both sets of images and still struggling to pick my favourites!!!

I highly recommend working with Russ.
