It may have been Ron's first visit to Two Wei but he'd clearly done his homework. He came with some great creative ideas which he's managed to transform into excellent images!

Ron is very polite, easy to talk to and clearly professional right from his approach through to his finished work.

I had the absolute stupendous pleasure of shooting with Ron for the first time from my home for the day 😊

Pre comms were on point and everything was easily and quickly arranged and organised, and Ron arrived on time with a ton of gear for us to work with, I have to say just how refreshing it was to work with someone that really wants to achieve quality over quantity, that being said we did actually get through quite a few sets inbetween all the chatting which was great 😊 but I love it if things look good but if we know we can do better why not just tweak the lighting or pose to make a cracking shot!

Once all the gear was in the house, and there was quite a bit haha, we started the day off with a good ole chat which is always great on a first shoot as it does help give you a better idea of how the other person works and what you want to work on so you can guarantee a good and fun shoot :D

We worked through a variety of sets from beauty shots, fashion, and art nude, whilst working around the house and creating sets.

Ron was so down to earth, easy to have a laugh with, I felt very at ease throughout the day and can certainly recommend him to any model, and I would jump at the opportunity to work with him again anytime! 😊

Roswell Ivory

Another reference for the awesomeness that is Ron. He's creative, great fun to work with, full of great ideas, brings interesting props to play with (thankyou for the Lara glasses!), a super lovely person and knows his way around lighting to create images that are interesting as well as flattering- even when I'm pulling stupid faces. :P

Even when we were fighting props mishaps, we still managed to create some work that looks amazing. I cannot recommend him any more highly and can't wait to work together again. :)

Joel Hicks

I've worked with Ron on a number of occasions, both in my capacity as a model and as the owner of Joel Hicks Photographic.

He is one of the most genuine and down to earth photographers that I've had the pleasure of meeting through the freelance scene. He is all about creating and capturing 'art' and, consequently, he's happy (and extremely skilled) in capturing both male and female subjects.

Ron has a formidle understanding of photography, and when he presses the trigger it's to capture a specific vision that he has in his mind - it's certainly not a case of clicking and hoping to get something half decent on the off chance.

With that said, he's also very humble and open to ideas and suggestions about how a shot might be improved, and he welcomes the input of those who he is working with.

On the occasions that Ron and I have worked together, he has captured some truly outstanding images - ranging from fire breathing shots in the lake to smoke and gel work in the studio, to a warrior masterclass. I've also seen the work he has produced with other models who have hosted shoot days at the studio, and every time he seems to create a number of 'wow factor' shots.

In the words of one model who Ron photographed at the studio recently, he is the kind of the photographer who 'restores your faith in the freelance scene...' and there is no praise higher than that!

What can I say about Ron that has not already been said??! I had my first shoot with him a few days ago and he's already become one of my favourite photographers to work with!

Full of ideas, very very creative, excited about brainstorming ideas/outfits... and arrived with some fantastic accessories that he had made himself! On top of that, he's a super lovely person so we had a great chat all the while we were shooting.

We're already planning our next shoot and I can't wait. :D

I simply love working with Ron! He really is an artist in the way he works: he'll come up with an idea, prop, outfit and doesn't just have a vision for the styling but for the light, composition, background... every last detail and he works so hard to make an image pop with creative wow! Being into art (in the drawing/painting sense) when I was younger I have so much appreciation for his style of working and the way he takes time to get a shot right/as good as it can possibly look. We were shooting some pretty challenging material too which really stretched us to nail the idea... It's all part of the fun of creating the image because when you do get it it's like "jump up and down and high-five" and that is what making creative images is all about. :) He will never cease to disappoint with his genius thoughts and ideas, simultaneously he shares ideas with models too and you get a true team bounce every time. We shot solely in the studio at Joel Hicks Photographic this time and that was perfectly suited because everything was working so well with the looks planned and Ron has undoubtable skill with controlling the light to paint the images how he envisages it. The last time we shot together the lights were different and even the studio had been refurbed so slightly unfamiliar to Ron but he took it in his stride and confidently goes about creating the set into something that resembles a darn good picture!

I cannot give Ron enough praise: we have worked together twice up to now and always got epic results, good quality variation. It's always a laugh and a giggle... The fact that Ron is probably the kindest hearted soul you could meet in photography makes him so easy to work with and I think all the other models he has shot with will agree. :) He's got total courtesy and a professional minded approach to working with models. The shoot pace is always relaxed and positive and completely stress free; it's a good when a photographer is creatively in tune like Ron is but it's also a help when you've got a prolific working relationship and feel totally at ease because it certainly shows in the pictures. All parties work far better that way. :)

I could honestly go on all day... But yes, Ron is awesome!! I'll scream his praises to absolutely everyone and I'm gutted I didn't have that much internet access following my Midlands visit because I was so eager to go on an uploading spree when I saw the superb images start to appear! :D

Ron Ron Ron... What an amazing photographer to work with... Pre comms was spot on! We planned out exactly how we wanted each set in the 4 hours of shooting together at my studio day at Joel hicks photographic. We were definately thinking along the same lines, and I knew straight away that on meeting Ron we would just click and make a fabulous team. The time we had just flown by so quickly.... too damn quickly if I'm honest... Leaving plenty of newly developed ideas.

Ron came along very well equipped, and raring to go. Soooo full of enthusiasm! His lighting skills are top notch, are as his editing skills! This is a photoshop genius!!! I am unbelievably chuffed to bits with the images! (That's a word I haven't used in a while.... Chuuuuffed!! Haha)

I would highly recommend him to any model, and I hope .. HOPE HOPE HOPE!! to work with him again sometime soon.

Ron and I recently got together for our first shoot with one another at Joel Hicks Photographic giving us scope to shoot both in the studio and outside... Normally photographers will often feel happiest doing one or the other because the lighting challenges are so different to take into account and you often find something that works particularly well set-wise which you may stick with due to how well it's working... Well we were on a fantastic roll this time! Not only did I click with Ron instantly but I just loved how effectively we utilised all the variety of backdrops on site to create charismatic images. :D

Here is a photographer who works with real innovative passion for his work: he loves creating delightful visuals with stunning artistic value and brings some amazing ideas to the table on the day: I find this always so exciting as a model because you straight away feel the creative team value and enjoy putting the looks together. Furthermore, Ron is such a wonderfully relaxed gent who is also more than happy to hear what kind of input his models can give as well. It goes without saying that I thoroughly enjoyed working with him. :)

He's such a professionally courteous person with a pristine approach to etiquette: I can quite confidently say that Ron has the best work ethic where shoots are concerned - and his should be an example of the standard! :) Such a lovely chap bearing total respect for those he works with: but we simultaneously had an amazingly fun session two so it really was the best of all world's.

From the beginning - his communication in emails was 5-star, during the shoot he really blasted a stupendous creative eye for an image and a technical mind to nail the lighting in beautiful ways, throughout the session we had barrels of laughs and he literally values his shoots (and the models) with complete appreciation for the work and brilliant working relationship that comes with working together. What a really wonderful photographer he is and I can honestly say that I recommend him to the moon and back! :) I really look forward to working together again soon.

I worked with Ron on a full day shoot at Sandon Studio. Ron is a really great person to work with, his pre-shoot comms were concise and helpful, he was friendly and polite from the very start. Ron's easy-going and communicative attitude helps to create a rapport within the shoot, and gets ideas flowing easily throughout.

Ron is a creative photographer whose dream is to create unique and beautiful images, who works hard with his model to get the shots he wants. He made me feel involved and comfortable throughout the shoot, clearly describing his ideas and inspirations so we were both on the same wavelength.

The time flew by and we had great fun taking some lovely images. I can't wait to see them all!

I highly recommend Ron to all, and hope to have the pleasure of working with him again soon!
