What a perfectionist!!! Roy was a complete gentleman and professional right from the start, ensuring I felt comfortable in the studio setting with refreshments and a screened off changing area.

Roy provided excellent direction and tips that come with years of experience, I really enjoyed collaborating and taking on board his expertise.

Nothing was too much trouble, and the images are everything I hoped for!!

I highly recommend this brilliant photographer!!!!!

It's always a relaxed and comfortable time at Roy's studio (and I'm grateful for the refreshments, too!). I really enjoy our chats and it's so great to know that alongside that we're capturing some great images. I am SO glad that we stuck around a bit to capture all of the ideas this time (well, who am I kidding? There are ALWAYS more ideas) because the results are bang on. Once again, I'm blown away by Roy's expertise. I'm always going to be absolutely delighted by any opportunity to shoot with him!

Wow!! Roy was my first formal booking via PurplePort and I couldn't have asked for a better experience from this network. Great comms beforehand, and I felt very comfortable immediately in his extremely well presented studio. I really enjoy Roy's meticulous style of work, and it was very helpful also to look at his inspirational images alongside discussing the lighting layouts in order to achieve the shots. Feedback and communication during the shoot was great. - oh, and thank you, Roy, for letting me drink gallons of your coffee and for your great taste in music (and for putting up with my music, too!).

Had a fantastic shoot with Roy today. We kept social distancing measures in place and kept 2m apart. He was great at knowing how to position me and the camera to achieve his perfect shot. He arrived on time and was very well prepared. Had a bit of a mishap with the flash falling over and breaking but he kept on and used whatever was available. Great shoot and will be happy to work with him again. 💚

I had an amazing photo shoot today with Roy. He was easy to get along with and was incredibly hospitable offering me drinks through out the shoot whilst advising and giving direction. I also learnt alot from my shoot as he answered questions and taught me things I didn’t know about photography and lighting. I would highly recommend him and would love to work with him again. Had my 1st shoot with Roy today. Great guy, easy to get along with. Has a fabulous studio which was warm and clean. Really enjoyed the shoot. Roy had great ideas working with the lighting. Can't recommend him enough

Roy was very warm and welcoming and kept me well stocked in coffee, coke, snacks and blankets when I got cold! He had a clear idea if the sort of images he wanted and directed me well and made appropriate light adjustments that allowed us to get some truly phenomenal images. I would definitely work with Roy again, particularly for studio work as his attention to detail and openness to ideas brought out the best for both of us.

Brown-Eyed Sunshine

Had my very first shoot with Roy today; we discussed working together for a while and he is very patient indeed when it came to arranging what time would be best for me, with work duties, past University times and whatnot.

Communication before the shoot was excellent, and he was very welcoming from the get go.

Roy is chatty, witty and an all round friendly guy (with great music taste I must add!), I even got to learn more about the equipment and photography itself during conversation which was interesting! The more I learn :)

Roy offered me some drinks and snacks through the shoot, and we had a giggle during it all, and even listened to a little music. Super comfortable atmosphere, really relaxed, so friendly, and he got a fantastic set of photos I am absolutely thrilled about!

Roy even let me sit down and flip through the many images we took, and let me see which ones I loved and would like him to develop, which I really appreciate!

I would absolutely recommend Roy to everyone, and I hope to work with him again! 😊

Glimmering_Passion

I had my first shoot with Roy today. Communication before, during and after the shoot was fantastic.

Roy was kind enough to pick me up from Durham to take me to his studio and also return me back to Durham to get home.

Our shoot was very relaxed and we had plenty of fun joking with each other, the hours flew by us, I forgot the time and enjoyed every moment.

Roy allowed me to look through the photos we had taken and choose my favourites that I would like him to develop.

I would certainly recommend Roy to other models and would love to work with him again. :D

I’m not too sure on dates but I’ve worked with Roy many times over the years. Roy is friendly, considerate, knows how to achieve a captivating photo and has a good sense of humour. While it was a little cold, he was engaging and eager to explain what he was doing as we went along, and was as willing to direct as he was to let me pose myself. Pleasantly conversational and a talented professional, I'd definitely shoot with him again at the drop of a hat :)
