Hi everyone!
I am a dance artist and model based in Ipswich and have been working professionally since 2016.
I love to use my variety of dance styles within modelling to add dynamic levels, colour and movement. My favourites are salsa, jive and jazz although I'm highly skilled within traditional West African movements, ballroom and latin, and some contemporary styles, amongst others.
I am coming back to PurplePort after a 4 year break whilst I focussed on creating Caribbean dance film: The Islands. I am now creating dance and social media explosion "Rosy May: Finding Joy," a one person dance show to be performed at the Headgate theatre in Colchester Fringe festival- 19th and 22nd October.
I am really looking forward to meeting new photographers and possibly working with some familiar faces. And I'll mainly be working in Suffolk and Norwich, however I can travel if need be.
I generally charge more if dancing because I need to allow for additional time to warm up/cool down and risk assess. I won't dance if I'm not properly prepared as it can cause injuries.
My hair is just above shoulder length and is growing out from a recent shave. Upon request I can send photos of it's current state, and I often wear it in little twists.
I have lots of costumes from "The Islands" and "Rosy May: Finding Joy," but I have an extensive wardrobe, partly due to my mum being eco designer ByKatyMac. We work together on a lot of projects and we also like to create custom comissions.
I have been involved in a few Advertising campaigns: H&M, Oreo, Dominos, Mudeka Shoes, The African Emporium, Sargasso Trading Company, One Planet Norwich, front cover of 'Norwich Resident', The Tailoress, 'Showtime.'
I'm not comfortable with certain personal details being public on this site but I have no way of removing them. My skin tone is listed as mixed race which is incorrect. "Mixed race" is an identity, not a colour. I have light brown skin. My ethnicity is White British and Black Jamaican.
It would be lovely to work together sometime, so please do get in contact!
