I work out of a small studio in my home here in Toronto. As you will notice, the majority of the images I shoot have a “fetish” look and feel to them. As latex and leather, and related fetishes, have gained a more mainstream acceptance in fashion and everyday wear, I have found more people interested in expanding an already established liking for lingerie and boudoir photos into something a little edgier. In other cases, the fetish aficionados here in the city have grown into a sizable market by themselves. I’m happy to serve any and all of their photographic needs both in the studio, and more recently out and about in the city and surrounding regions. The fun (and the challenges) of shooting with crowds of people about have added a whole new dimension to the job. The rewards and what I have learned from the sessions in public venues have me seeking out more opportunities outdoors among those who gawk and giggle nervously at some of the fetish outfits worn by the models with whom I work. And not infrequently are we asked to do a pic of one of the girls posing with one of the "watchers". It's always a bit of extra fun! :)
I don’t deal in nude or sexually explicit themes - not for any moral or judgemental reasons, I just find there’s enough of it out there and it’s not as much to my liking as what I enjoy doing. From time to time I find it interesting that some of the themes and scenarios that appear in my pics draw negative comments; but those are mostly based on the fact that some of my pics will touch a religious or societal nerve. Those people have the same right to their opinions, as I do to the ideas expressed though my photographs. ‘Nuff said.
New friends and sharing ideas and counsel on photographic matters are just two of the reasons I joined Purple Port. I’ve already found it to be a wonderful source of inspiration and expertise all in one place. I trust I will meet some of you through comments and e-mails. While I live in Canada and am not likely going to run into many of the members from the UK at conferences or exhibits, I would very much like to make contact and chat now and then. Hopefully the Canadian/US contingent will grow in time and more closer-to-home friendships will become possible.
All good things,
