Roger proved to be a fantastic host when shooting with Helen Diaz recently at Heavenly Bodies studio.

Roger was on hand throughout to offer guidance, set up some wonderful lighting setups and provide some truly creative and inspirational ideas.

Roger is a true gentleman, full of inspiration and a pleasure to work with and learn from.

I worked with Roger again the other day at our little studio "Heavenly Bodies Studio" on a "gold art nude, body paint workshop" organised by myself.

We were very fortunate to have Roger to assist with lighting and backdrops for the various photography sets (he is the lighting engineer extraordinaire!)

Prior to the photographers arrival Roger also helped to paint me top to toe in gold!

Roger is an expert host, so kind, thoughtful and considerate to everyone.

We had such a fun day with photographers; "Terry V", "Dave Challenger" and "Dannyshib" experimenting with various lighting set ups and wardrobe.

Roger is professional, kind and very respectful and it was lovely to get the chance to shoot together again! :)

I absolutely love thegolde bodypaint results on the day, the photographs looked epic! Highly recommended to all models and creatives alike. Helen x

It is my pleasure to give Roger his 100th reference here on Purpleport! 🌹

I worked with Roger alongside photographer Imrich (rocker) at the sensational Belmont House in Salisbury and had a truly AWESOME day!

Roger is cool, calm, professional to work with and super creative. He is one of those people who can connect with anyone and make them instantly feel at ease. Its always a little nerve-wracking pairing up photographers for photoshoot events but Roger and Imrich hit it off immediately and worked really well together with fantastic teamwork and direction throughout.

The half day absolutely flew by in the blink of an eye as we explored the stunning rooms Belmont House had to offer!

Rogers editing skills are also beautiful and always presented to a high standard. I really loved the photographic results!

The highest of recommendations. Helen x

I worked with Roger as part of a documentary project alongside film-maker "Underground Films".

Together we explored the subjects astrophotography and photography over the course of the day in our home and studio and it was such a en enjoyable day!

I'm always a little nervous working with people I haven't met for the first time (even after all of these years!) and it was a very different scenario for me; filming and talking to the camera, rather than shooting stills! However, I really enjoyed myself and would love to explore videography further!

Roger gave a very confident presentation and I greatly enjoyed being on set!

I would absolutely love to work with the team again and really look forward to seeing the final cut!

Highly recommended to all, Helen x

Had my second shoot with Roger after 2 years, I had a studio day at his home studio Heavenly Bodies Studio.

I started the day with Roger which was great as I really enjoyed the last shoot and couldn’t wait to see what we could create this time.

We did a mixture of fashion and nudes, using gems, some accessories and experimenting with shadows and strings.

I was so happy with the results , Roger is a great photographer and really strives to get the best shot.

The last time I had worked with roger I was less expirienced and even then I had a great time shooting as Roger is very patient and calm and gives good feedback

I felt well looked after and had a really lovely shoot

I highly recommend working with Roger no matter what experience level you’re at.

Just returned from an Icelandic trip organised by Helen Diaz and her husband, Roger More, originally planned for 2020. Unfortunately Covid came along and the trip got postponed 3 times and has only just finally happened last week. It was well worth the wait and the trip was excellent. Roger was absolutely brilliant in the organising department and did many hours of driving the whole group up to and around northern Iceland without any complaints whatsoever. The logistics of making sure everything went as smoothly as possible is worthy of the highest praise, from getting to all the planned locations to making sure we were all at the right place at the right time for hotels and flights etc. Roger also did all the cooking for us and produced some lovely meals. He also takes a good picture :)

The conditions couldn't have been better, with blue skies and sunshine for the whole week! A very rare thing in Northern Iceland apparently!

Thank you so much Roger for all the effort that went into making this trip the success that it was. We eventually did it!!

RogerMore and I organise and host Icelandic Dreams photography trips and we have just returned from an amazing week away!

Due to the pandemic this was the third reschedule! We had hoped that this was our "third time lucky" but due to the mania of airports in 2022, despite being 2 hours early for our flight... the long queues and security held us all up and we missed our gate closure by minutes (no announcements)!! (Mental note; in 2022 post pandemic: arrive at the airport 3 hours before your scheduled flight-minimum!)

RogerMore came up with a genius plan B and a rescue plan and we finally arrived in Iceland 15 hours later... (plus our second flight was also delayed twice!) Phew... what a journey and many hours waiting at Luton airport (Luton airport, as the famous "One foot in the grave" series states "where no one can hear you scream!").

Thankfully a member of airport staff gave us all (Roger, IridaS and I) permission to use the "prayer room" section of the airport to rest which was a blessing a half!!) Throughout all of the above Roger was calm, professional and resilient.

After our manic journey, together; IridaS, Svala (Icelandic Selkie) and I modelled over the Icelandic landscape during the course of the week, venturing to the North of Iceland, staying in a beautiful retreat in Dalvik.

Rogermore and I hosted six photographers and three models in total over the course of the week shooting art nudes in the stunning landscape and the weather was absolutely beautiful, with sunshine every day (very unusual for Iceland!), raining only on the last day that we were leaving. It was the summer time in Iceland in late May-June and much of the day was beautiful sunlight making for the perfect conditions for photography.

Roger is the chef, chauffeur and my amazing partner for these photographic tours. I would be absolutely lost without him; he is patient, kind and a fantastic leader, always calm, cool, collected and extremely capable.

I absolutely LOVED the photographic results we have achieved together which were beautifully captured and edited. Roger always aims to capture the best of the model and to create photographs to be proud of, his editing is also superb.

It was certainly a very memorable trip...one I will never forget!!

Thankyou Roger for being my absolute rock, I can not imagine my life without you.

I worked with Roger at the stunning Ashton Court Estate and had such a wonderful time exploring and photographing the glorious rooms and grounds! This was part of an photography group event which was very well organised, so enjoyable and a great atmosphere!

We worked together on a fashion shoot with beautiful gowns and tailored makeup and styling. Roger bought a flask of coffee and homemade sandwiches which were greatly needed! :P I am extremely biased as Roger is now my husband but he always takes great care of the model, is extremely kind and super creative. A lovely day, Helen x

Roger come for me and we went together for a photo shoot. During the walk to the location the rain surprised us and we need to get back to the car. We decided to change a location and we went to the beautiful waterfall . We were shooting for some time, then heavy rain suprises us again. It was hard day, but we have some amazing and beautiful pictures. Roger is a very talented, kind and helpful person. I am very happy from working together and I hope we will have a chance to work together again.

Highly recommended.

Roger hosted me on my annual tour of the area again this weekend! I’ve been staying with him for so many years now and he is a fabulous hose! He’s also become an incredibly good friend over the years so I always look forward to catching up :)

This time round we managed to squeeze in an impromptu shoot in his new studio space! Which is absolutely fantastic and a great space to work!!

It’s been wayyyy too long since we got chance to shoot together so it was really lovely that we managed to grab a bit of time working together :)

Highly recommend by me and can’t wait for our future adventures next year :D

Well having met before on a previous shoot and Socially. After problems with the trains and arriving later than planned at my station at 5:02pm. Roger The Gentleman Photographer was sent out by Helen to pick me up, most kind.

Arriving at Greensleeves, warmly welcomed by Helen and introductions to everyone else. A pleasant bunch. Mince pies all round and Coffee.

The studio was very good, everything you expect from white walls, 3 backdrops, Lighting, soft boxes, heating, reflectors, nicely blacked out windows to control light.

I keep referring to him as The Gentleman Photographer because that is what he is, soft spoken and very self-deprecating on his minimalist port notes. His Photography typically on location, speaks for him.

The basic setup was two lights with soft boxes at an angle either side of Helen on the backdrop, firing remotely via triggers on hot shoe.

That was my first surprise to me as I know my camera can natively fire flashguns remotely but Olympus flashguns.

This is an illustration of Roger The Gentleman Photographer starting out as he meant to go on. Welcoming, everybody’s welfare seen to, Coffee. Explaining what the shoot was about and the setup and what settings.

Throughout he was a very good tutor, patient, thorough, didn’t behave as though he knew everything and the right temperament.

Fortunately, with a test the trigger on hot shoe worked. Settings were 1/100s Shutter (my first several shots were 1/125s), ISO 100 and recommend f11. Now my camera can only go down to f8 at the most. What results shall I get?

Manual mode as well, help!

I have not photographed in a Studio Environment using Lighting as extensively as this, neither photographed a shoot entirely using Flash, neither used a remote trigger or my built-in capability with Olympus flashguns and absolutely never shot (apart from a couple of test shots when I first used my Stylus 1) in Manual!

I note with varied setups, most efficient and organised. Minute attention to getting things just right in meticulous adjustments tailored to everyone. I note f8 was just fine.

Never getting in the way, allowing everyone to go ahead and shoot. Fully concerned for everyone and particularly the model’s welfare.

Roger’s lighting setup was just perfect! A most even balanced light in every shot, I found. Superb detail, light and shadow.

No fuss, no drama. No problem when one had to visit the bathroom or change a battery in camera.

Much of what I note and said about Helen equally applies to Roger. It is so apparent the trust and that they get on so well.

Anyone snobbish enough to cast aside Roger The Gentleman Photographer just because he is lucky enough to photograph Helen so often is giving him the greatest insult and importantly their bloody loss!

He knows a lot more about Photography than he admits to, knows his subject. Excellence in genres other than Landscape, Travel and Architecture. Portraits most especially.

I have read several times that to be a top Portrait Photographer you don’t need expensive kit, many courses, a studio or many qualifications and membership of professional bodies.

You need to be a People Person!

Roger The Gentleman Photographer is certainly that!

Do I mention he makes a good coffee.

I have many absolute gems from this shoot. Equally from Helen’s and Roger’s contribution.

Felt a lot longer than 3 hours from 6pm to 9pm but in this the standout was how smooth everything went with each having 5 min slots to shoot. Of course, setup and adjustments took up most of the time in the 3 sets but 1st starting with a light grey streaked backdrop and nudes. The 2nd with a smoke backdrop and a red sheer dress and the 3rd with a pitch-black backdrop and cover on baskets for Helen to lie on with the addition of a rectangular soft box firing downwards.

The lighting setup was just perfect throughout.

Such kind hospitality at Greensleeves.

I don’t just give him the highest recommendation for his Photographic ability.

Everyone should find Neverland (2nd star on the right and follow till morning of course), for my 2nd visit the Moon was full so easy to find.

Should you be lucky enough to enter Greensleeves, everyone will benefit from such tuition. In such a calm, welcoming, encouraging environment.

All studio environments should be like this.

I give him the highest recommendation because he is one of the most pleasant and professional people I have ever met, absolutely a People Person, a Gentleman Photographer.

It only takes of course a little Trust and Pixie Dust!
