Snakes can be difficult to capture on camera. Most do not want to interact with people and will flee before you can point your camera. Unusually this cobra kept still for me for a couple of minutes before slithering off!

Chinese Cobras are highly poisonous but almost never attack people unless stepped on, cornered or surprised without being able to get away. There are over 50 different snake species in Hong Kong, though only a handful are venomous. No-one has died from snakebite in Hong Kong for over 40 years, partly due to that all the hospitals stock all the antivenom.
