Had the privilege of shooting at river north studios for the 2nd time. Matthew was on hand to give advice to both myself and photographer as well as providing us with nice hot beverages.

This really is a lovely little studio that has everything you need with the added bonus of Matthews expertise.

Cannot recommend this studio enough and hopefully I get the opportunity to shoot here again.

I selected River North Studio largely because of it's location close to model Victoria_Smith. Of course I checked out the references but you can never be sure about a studio until you see it for yourself. Well what a pleasant surprise. The proprietor Matthew Evas (Matthew Evas Photography) was a very welcoming host to his place, which is a good size, both floor space (stacks) and height (stacks). There was plenty of space to use a 135mm lens for full length images.

To my delight he has a very heavy duty stand and boom arm which reached out about 20 feet, easily enabling my planned lighting set up of an over head soft box with side strip lights. I must confess to a spot of envy of the stand and boom arm but sadly my home studio has neither the height nor floor space to accommodate one.

Matthew has a good range of lighting modifiers and was very helpful with advice about using it, never intruding but always available to answer any questions. He also makes good tea and coffee. So highly recommended his studio but do be aware there is little or no guest parking so you will have to unload and drive to a free car park a short distance away. Unless you are photographing an elephant there is ample space for the majority of shoot plans and Matthew is a very helpful and hospitable host

I met Matthew for the first time yesterday, and I must say, what s fantastic gentleman he is.

Friendly and welcoming, Matthew offered hot drinks and bought me my shoes on set (so I didn't have to walk the concrete floor).

The studio is well appointed amd Matthew shared a wealth of knowledge with both myself and the photographers.

He was also happy for us to extend by another hour.

Had a pleasure of doing a photoshoot at river north studios on a pretty cold evening, but the heating was on ready for when we arrived to try warm us all up a bit.

This was the first time I have shot at this studio but it is very well equipped with everything that you need including a dressing table for checking hair and makeup etc and a changing area. The owner was very kind and on always on hand helping our photographer with setting up and giving advice where needed, he even uploaded our pictures onto his computer for us so that we could see our progress on a larger screen.

I met Matthew for the first time at his studio on a cold January evening. River North Studios is incredibly well appointed with all the lighting equipment and backdrop options that an indoor photoshoot could use. Matthew was available throughout to help with lighting and provide advice as required. This was extremely useful to me and allowed the rest of us to focus on the photoshoot rather than spending time on setup.

I recommend the River North Studios without hesitation. The booking process was easy and Matthew was a fantastic host.

My first time shooting at River North Studio couldn’t have gone any better! The owner very kindly picked me up from the station, and was very understanding when my train was delayed. The studio is such a great space, equipped with everything you would need for a great shoot, such as props, furniture, lights, backdrops as well as big white walls. They made sure I was warm and well watered, the shoot flew by because of how accommodating and kind everyone was. Highly recommend this studio, and really hope to be back there soon!

I had my first visit to the studio today to shoot a theme for a stylist work a model we both worked with prior. Matt the owner was on hand to welcome us, and he's very friendly and helpful in helping set the shoot up. All those lovely canvas backdrops you could spend all day using those. Thoroughly enjoyed speaking with Matt and working at his studio, will be back and highly recommended.

Who knew Trowbridge had such a gem! I had my first experience at River North yesterday and I'm sure it won't be the last. As a model who (to my detriment) attempts to take a decent photo now and then I was frankly overawed by the range and breadth of equipment Matt has on offer. In addition, he's a great guy to work with and he aided the shoot with his helpful, un-intrusive input. The range of backdrops are a particular highlight, and his taste in music isn't bad either! I have shot at River North a few times now and I am always impressed with how good the space is and Matt the studio owner is such a lovely guy. Matt has the studio looking great, clean, spacious, amazing equipment/backdrops/facilities.

I have always enjoyed my shoots with EPW at the studio and Matt is on hand to help and assist in anyway.

Yesterday I had my first shoot at River North Studio with Nigel23. The studio was warm and bright with some really beautiful backdrops and lots of great lighting and equipment. There was a beautiful well lit mirror and dressing table with plenty of space for makeup and jewellery and a rail for hanging clothes to make outfit changes easy. Michael was friendly and helpful throughout our session and was a real joy to spend time with. I would highly recommend this studio to anyone thinking of working here! Thanks again Michael!

Shot for the first time at River North Studio this week, good space to shoot, with a high ceiling and great length & width. Has plenty of lighting options, as well as wide variety of backdrop choices, props to suit my needs.

Communication in booking and directions to the studio were spot on and Matthew was at hand to help set up the lighting look I was after, then leave me to it. His easy going style and help throughout, made the shoot a pleasure.

Will happily shoot here again.

Gets a bonus for being near a decent fish and chip shop.

English Photoworks

I have been using River North to run my studio workshops over the last few months and wanted to say a few words about the space and its owner, Matthew. Firstly, the space itself is large, airy and extremely well equipped. The lighting rig consists of a large array of modifiers for all shooting scenarios, plenty of backdrops and one of those amazing camera stands. There is a changing area, a small kitchen and seating area. I always love working with Matt and appreciate his efficiency and studio know-how. River North is an outstanding studio — you'll get a great space and great service there!

I attended an English Photoworks workshop at the studio. It's spacious, clean and well equipped, and Matthew was on hand to help if needed. Easily accommodated the nine people that were there without it feeling crowded. Would happily use again.

I booked out River North Studio for a workshop and had a great experience there. The space is big, inspiring and very well equipped. Matthew made us feel very welcome and was able to assist with one or two areas that I didn’t understand! I hope to run more events there and highly recommend the space!
